Yep, start at the front and work your way back till you get the sound you want.

Corsa catback...sweet sounding, no drone, she talks at full throttle. The tips are real nice and installation is a DIY period....

I have a SLP Loudmouth 2 axle-back. Definitely louder than stock. It does have some drone, though.

Very good point initially I was thinking catback then later on going to headers only to get rid of those eyesore trash cans hanging on my car. (Factory mufflers are HUGE!) Re-thinking that decision.

I have heard some sound clips of LS3's with stock mufflers that had headers and hi-flow cats / or cat delete and they sounded dam good.
Primary goal is to increase sound and release the beast that is quieted by GM. Absolutely 20/25 more HP would be nice! I'm not really a fan of Axle back.

Kooks headers, high-flow cats, and the Kooks "sleeper" cat-back. Sounds more like a V8 without being obnoxious. When married up with a CAI, ported throttle body, and a handful of suspension mods, the car is a super-fun daily driver.

Headers:

cat-back:

The guys at Maryland Speed really took the time to talk through what my goals and expectations were, then taylored a package to meet them as well as fit in my budget.

Doug Thorley 1 3/4" Tri Y longtube headers, offroad pipes, true duals with flowmaster super 10 mufflers. Loud at idle and cruising speeds, obnoxious at WOT...love it

Camaro Corvette GTO Truck tuner in Tampa Orlando Bradenton

I have Pfadt headers, HF cats, 2.5 inch X pipe and stock mufflers.

Its nice and quite cruising and raspy at WOT. Very sleeper for the bigger plan.

All I did was add Solo J-Pipe axle backs to my stock L99. Put them on over 2 years
go and I swear they get deeper and more aggressive sounding all the time.
Personally I wouldn't want my exhaust any louder. Big plus- NO drone at any RPM.
