NEED HELP FAST
I have a 2010 camaro ss..
Mods: LMR TUBING WITH K&N FILTER CAI XPIPE BORLA AXLE BAK S TYPE I cleaned the oval K&N filter, oiled it and let it soak overnight.. About a week after I did it the CEL came on and the codes said I was running lean in bank 1 and 2.. I looked around and it said that oil may have gotten on the MAF so I cleaned it re installed and everything was good.. Well the car say for 2 days while I was out of town and I drove back home and the CEL came back on but when I got home unpacked the car and pulled out my obdII monitor the CEL was off... So I read more and something was said about pulling the #5 and #20 fuse to reset the mapping for air and fuel.. I'm trying that now and we will see how it works tomorrow but I planned on getting a street tune from a guy in cedar park, tx.. I heard that can fix the issue but I was wondering if anyone w Else had this issue... So lost in the sauce right now any help will do thanks in advance |

Since you just cleaned your filter, it could have been to much oil sprayed on the filter. Those kind of filters only need a light coat of oil. To much and it gets sucked through the element and ends up on the mass air. You might check your element for over saturation.

Good advice above, those filters need very little oil.

I hear oil is better.. But like I said it's what I heard... When I picked up the car I'm pretty sure they put 87 octane in it but it only popped up when I cleaned the filter out which might I add was filthy as f**k.. Didn't throw CEL until I cleaned and added oil.. Any recommendations for a dry filter?
