Leave car running
My current job requires me to make frequent stops. I need to leave my car for about 5 minutes before going to my next stop. I want to leave the car running but cant because i dont want to leave it unlocked. Is it possible to exit a running car and lock it? I've tried to lock it with another remote but it just keeps unlocking. I think this is to keep you from locking the keys inside. Is there a setting in the informant system that can be changed to allow a running car be locked?

It's illegal in most states to leave your car running with the keys in it.

How many frequent stops do you make per shift?
If it is like 15-30, like pizza delivery guys, then I would definitely get a beater. |

I haven't tried it on my Camaro yet but I frequently leave my GMC and my chevy truck running when I go into a store. I have a quick release on the keychain so I can take the keyfob and lock the doors with it. Works perfect.

Why do you want to leave the car running for five minutes or more?
Safety, security, and needless emissions are good reasons to turn it off. |

You can press and hold the button on the driver's door until it quits arguing.
Or you can open the passenger door and press the electric lock button. With a manual trans the remote won't work with a key in the ignition so make sure you have another key to unlock the door. I don't know if the remote works on an automatic. If it won't lock the car it probably won't unlock it.

There certainly is a way. My department ride, a Ford F-150, was equipped with a small button that allows me to remove the keys with the engine running, lock the car, and walk away. Most police cars are equipped with that feature, so you can leave the engine running with the emergency lights on, thus not draining the battery. A local auto electronics shop does the install on our UC rides, and I'm sure then would do it for a civilian vehicle too. If someone was to get in the vehicle and try to drive it, the act of stepping on the brake pedal shuts the engine down. Easy peasy......

Take the key with you then hit the remote start. Car will lock and be safely waiting for your return.

I want to say inside of your config settings on the radio there is an option to change if the car will lock with the keys still in the ignition. Otherwise I'd say use an extra key to manually lock the door

There is a setting in your config on your radio to enable you to do this
