Ontario has a similar speeding law. 50kph over can also be $10,000 fine, up to 6 months in jail, and up to 2 yr licence suspension - if the judge is in a bad mood I guess.

Any advice?
Yes, use common sense? Logic is dead.

should have ran from the cop, crossed the US border, wait a couple days, and head back.

With our cars, who does not break the speed limit once in a while, especially when passing another vehicle. Just need to be very selective to where and install detection.

You might want to take a chance & fight it to get the charges reduced. Besides the fine plus towing and impound $, your points will most likely cost you thousands in insurnace over the next 3 years.

Sorry to hear that OP I would be devastated if that happened to me. Did he get you on radar, or just assumed it was 50 over.

I drive on a two lane highway all day, so you really do have speed a lot just to pass. It looks dumb, but speed to get past the semi or w/e, then slam on the brakes to get back down closer to the legal limit when you get back over.
70% of me getting pulled over, was because they clocked me while passing someone, and the cops around here dont think of it as a good excuse |

This is one reason that I'm thinking about getting out of the hot rod business. I only went to the drags twice this year and it's impossible to have fun on the roads anymore because of how many cops there are feeding on you like sharks. Might as well have a truck or a jeep. They are more useful these days.
