Be happy they didnt stuf the MRC into it like it was originally uneveiled. Then I would be pissed.
Not sure why they didnt just call this the Z28. Oh well wont bring that topic in here

Side skirts, wheels, tires, quad exhaust, if it shared anymore it would just be a ZL1 clone on the exterior. I think the idea is good, having a Boss competitor, but it needs some different styling ques.

I guess they don't look alike

Chevrolet is slowly running out of ideas. "1LE" looks like a poor man's ZL-1. Rear diffuser could have been different even a different wing.

I love GM and everything Camaro, but I always want to stay not one, but two steps ahead of our competition (three ahead of F#$@). I think once the 1LE hits the showroom floors it will look less like the ZL1, I am keeping the faith. Before the 1LE the ZL1 really set itself apart from the other Camaros, and I liked that.

I think it would be nice if i liked these wheels and this engine I could actually buy that instead of just offering it in certain trims. And then i am stuck with certain options.

We could do that!

Are you willing to pay thousands more for each Camaro model?

there's a reason that only the "Ultra-Luxury" cars in the world still allow 'free-flow' options...........Cost.

Every manufacturer has 'deproliferized' their product lines.

Tidbit:

Take a guess as to how many build combinations we had for the 1997 Camaro......

Take a guess............................................

I will post tomorrow or the next day.......

(by the way - we built a total of 60,202 1997 model year Camaros -- and if you guess 100,000 -- you aren't even close....)

The more camaro varieties available will be better for us. One other thing I'd recommend is to make the 1le more of a track concept by making it lighter than the 'ss with some racing seats, and anything else that would reduce weight.

while we're 'guessing' - please take a 'guess' at what ONE wheel program costs......

(...remember - there is a LOT of validation that takes place so that a wheel doesn't come apart at 90,000 miles when someone's doing 100mph on a freeway....)

We can make it lighter as well........are you willing to pay thousands of dollars more for titanium and aluminum and composite components to lose weight?

Remember - this is a Camaro.......it has to be affordable and offer more than expected at a Chevrolet price. (look at the performance of the ZL1 and compare it with supercars....)

my .02 is car people will see the differences other people won't. I like the hood and front facia from the ZL-1 alot so ot me it looks different. the same way the shelby and the boss do from the front. from there rear spoiler and badge.

Remember that 99% of the people that pass you on the road aren't going to care what kind of car you are driving. Most won't know that you're driving a camaro, let alone a ZL1 or 1LE.

Guess what........to most people.......it's just a CAR.

Most people.........AREN'T........car enthusiasts like us (I know, big shocker).

That pretentious looking blond that just drove by in the range rover? Guess what..........she doesn't give a crap what kind of Camaro you're driving, let alone what type of car it is! lol.

This talk of exclusivity......I mean it's just ridiculous. It's a Camaro for god's sakes, not a Lambo Aventador or Ferrari Pinafarina.

The 1LE is nothing but a SS with added ZL-1 parts on it.
Like someone modded a SS

The ZL-1 will have a completely different looking frontend along with belly pan and etc.

Mod a 1LE engine wise and you will have a hell of a track car/driver and I don't mean drag racing.

I know they use bigger "half shafts", but you are right. We don't know if it's the "beefier" 200# heavier differential. And, we really don't know if the half shafts are as beefy as the ZL1's either. I am really digging the fact they are making the 3:91 final ratio. This could be geared very very well and "scream"..... really "s c r e a m "..... in the 20mph to 110mph range! Might really train the Boss and .... give the ZL1 some lower end "runs for the money"!!

It won't be too long and I think JusticePete will be clarifying some details for us! Comon Pete! Dig out the info! Is "this" Z28 material? Ahem...
**cough**

Hmmm, lets see I had a 97 Camaro (loved it), I am going to go with 500,000 plus? There are 221,184 ways to build a Whopper I think the free flow options are what made the older muscle cars so collectible. It seems like no one car was the same back then. I total understand why we do not have that level of customization in todays market.

The cost of one wheel program, hmmm I am going to go with 1 million to develop a new wheel? If its more than that someone needs ask the GMC guys why they needed five 20 inch rim options, and three 22 inch rim options for the Denali.

I understand you can not break the bank to have every Camaro trim line look total different. I also understand that the ZL1 is a Camaro and not a Ferrari. On a side note the $200,000 Ferrari California has the same navigation from my brothers 2007 V6 Chrysler 300. So for those complaining about the new touch screen or lack of, think about that. Well back to my point, the forth gen Camaro looked almost identical in all trim lines V6, Z28, and SS. That did not bother me much, and in fact the 4th gen is one of my favorite cars. The difference between then and now is the ZL1 is special (at least in my eyes) and the crescendo of Camaro performance. This is the Legend and Ultimate Camaro, his little brother (1LE) should not get to wear his varsity jacket.
