Omg I think I found the one I want! Is this one good?
http://slo.craigslist.org/ctd/1268280599.html
i'd have to travel to go see it so I don't know if it's worth investigating or not.. I know it's a firebird but it's a sister car.. It's freaking beautiful! Is it really a Trans Am? Hood looks different. lots of miles, how dependable do you think it would be? How much work would I probably have to put into it? I'd LIKE a car I wouldn't have to do anything with.. anyone that can get a car report on that vin? oh wait found one on their website everything looks good, two owners.. then this "05/13/2009 California Police Report Accident reported Involving right side impact " How bad is this? can I negotiate them down in price? Kelly blue book value has it at $5,595.00, I'll let you deside if your willing to pay that persons asking price with the car having been in an accident.

well if I could get the price down, how dependable do you think it would be for a few years?
I don't want something like my current car where something new pops up (and breaks) every month |

The only way I would pay $10k is if it had the WS6 package (the T/A hood that you mentioned), otherwise I wouldn't pay no more then $7-8k.
See if they can tell you exactly what type of repairs had been done and then take it to a mechanic that you know and trust and have it looked over to verify what they told you. If they can't tell you walk away. I avoid wrecked cars unless I know what was fixed and see if the fixes will be an issue later. With it being wrecked and no WS6 package, I wouldn't pay no more then $6k for it. |

As far as the motor the LS1's (which this car has) are very dependable. I have 160,000 miles on mine and have only had the alternator go out and the rear main seal. The car has never left me stranded. I do not baby my car but I do maintain it very well. I would ask to see the records for service done on the car, this way you can know if the owner kept up with it or not. If there are no records, then the owner could say their grandma only drove it to church on Sunday and changed the oil every week, nobody would be able to disprove that statement even if it is BS.

Well anyway I suppose if i look hard I could find a newer car in better condition for less $ huh. I'd have to get financing though so this would have been nice and I LOVE the firebird. Maybe it's worth it? I don't know now.. |

It is the base firebird "firebird coupe 2D" not formula, Trans Am, or
Collectors Edition. http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...uizConditions=

Nope, it's a TA, the spoiler and bumper covers are dead giveaways. As mentioned before it just isnt a WS6 TA.

It is really nice but remember when financing if it is over priced the bank will want you to come up with the difference for a down payment. This is with most banks I have used anyway so I could possibly be wrong. Someone here may be able to clarify that for you. If so you may be able to get them down on the price by telling them the bank would only lend so much. It's worth a try if you really want the car. Even if you don't get this one don't get discouraged there are plenty of nice cars out there you could find a good deal on and with less miles i'm sure. Good luck!
