No I don’t believe they will run the same.

But I also believe that right now everyone including ford is trying to make their mark with the 18. Notice the guys that are running the 6th gens are regular joes. Buying cars used or from dealerships just like the rest of the 18 Gt’s that have been run.

If the 11.7 camaro or even the 11.8 camaro was delivered by Gm to the editor of GM high tech and it clicked off some crazy time then I would question that as well.

roll races with no traction issues and hardly any variables. they started at what looks to be the exact same time in most of the races and varying speed. the also have a couple dig races. it also looks like for a lot of the races the mustang is also without a passenger compared to the SS.

its the los racing youtube channel. two friends who just got cars. they have race literally like 10 times.

The mustang doesn't look faster in most of the vids until higher speeds.

and of course he could be lying about being stock...but we cant play those games without proof.

I just did a quick search. Looks like the videos are 50-50. On camaro/mustang roll race wins. Which is what i would expect with cars this close.

Carry on, this entertainment isn’t horrible.
Yeah not everyone posts up everything in the sig they have raced or owned. Grew up around race cars. Worked in a carb shop through high school and have been in the automotive field my whole adult life. I have built and race cars for a tick over 24 years. Been 5.0’s at 144 in the 1/8 and 8.04@174 in the 1/4. Ran 9.9’s back in 2000 with a sbf on dope. Last budget race car went 9.3@150 5.3 Turbo Fox. Ran 11.6’s with the LS1 back in 99, 12.3’s with the old LT1 back in 04. Had a sweet 700hp 2.2 KB 03 Cobra back in 07. Have had everything including blowers, strokers, nitrous and turbos. 8 mustangs,4 camaros, 74” flat slick busa on the jug and even currently still have the record F150 Ecoboost Tremor. Grudge racing, street racing and bracket racing most of my time I have raced. Hell the last 2 cash days I attended I won both. I’m not brand loyal!

Good afternoon everyone, this is my first post and I came on here to clear the air. First and foremost, anything I write, post, or publish is based on fact. I test cars and share the results. I have done this for over 20 years. My background is drag racing—I've been going down the strip since I'm 17 and have raced NHRA Stock Eliminator since 1994.

While I spent most of my time working for Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine, I've tested other brands of vehicles, too. Frankly, I love cars so it doesn't matter to me whether I'm behind the wheel of a Camaro, Mustang, Vette, Viper or whatever, I give it my all to get the best possible elapsed time. Sometimes I find excellent track conditions, sometimes it's 95 degrees out there.

In this case, I ran a fully loaded 2018 Performance Pack GT and I did so without so much as removing a floor mat. The weather hovered just above sea level, front tire pressure was raised to 45 psi, rear TP was between 26-28 depending on what run I made. Engine temp was between 160 and 185. I provided video and reported my every move in a story published here:

http://www.mustangandfords.com/how-t...18-mustang-gt/

I did in fact spend mostly all day testing the car in stock trim. Why? I tested launch rpm and the car required a minimum of 30 minutes of cool down for it to maintain peak performance. I also spent time doing photos, including a few magazine cover-style burnout shots, which required setup time.

Here's a few facts: Ford test cars do not come directly from Ford. They are maintained and delivered by a service that deals with the media. Next, was the car a ringer? Some may say yes, but I say no. We all know about tuning, and the folks in the PR department don't have access to "tunes" created just for the media. This is not 1970, where the manufacturer sends a "tuning guru" to the track with the car.

Well, that's about it. I'd be glad to field any questions.

Evan
Hi Evan,

I was brought here probably the same way you did, with the video on your youtube account. So I was the one (VelR5.0GT) that mentioned the tricks that were possibly used for the elapsed times. I never said that those were in fact used. I said that knowing who you are and reading how you like to approach things, that most likely some tricks were used and the average non-experienced drag racer person won’t be seeing those times.

You clarified that it was only aired up front tires and lowered rear tires along with the shallow staging. You also mentioned low humidity and low DA both of which are key to a naturally aspirated engine more than a forced induction one.

People fail to realize that those tricks are proven. Once again, why I mentioned that most wont see those times.

I love both the camaro and mustang. Although I’m a mustang guy at heart and still own a 93 fox, the camaro is the one that has had my attention nowadays. The 18 mustang is starting to spark my interest since I’ve always said that the moment ford starts to use an A8 or A10 the coyote will wake the hell up.

My C6 vette had me inmersed into the LS world running as fast as 10.38@134 as a daily driver.

Keep up the great work and we should all be happy that we can run basically 11s with a stock naturally aspirated engine. Long live the V8 power!

I only have cars in my sig that I currently own and race.

I'm not brand loyal either, I have a 2012 cruze and a 2015 dmax.

I bet the bench racers in here are real good at racing dynos too. lol

The biggest mid-generation refresh was the 2009-2010, which brought around totally new exterior sheet metal, suspension, brakes, etc. In 2011, in the same generation, the 5.0 replaced the 4.6 and the 3.7 replaced the 4.0.

Ford is much more aggressive and always has been in updating the Mustang with new exteriors and power trains than GM, going back to the beginning.
The NPI t PI refresh didn't decrease 1/4 mile time by a full second like we're to believe the 18 refresh did. And there was no major trans change.

And I love how you just keep posting nonsense just to get some attention. Saying that we're mad didn't work, you got ignored. And you're still trying. So here, you got some attention.

And you got a little more attention. Good for you. So what does it matter to you what someone else does with their car? What makes your particular preference better or more respected than theirs? Some people don't care to beat their cars on the track. Not everyone has an old car that can be put together cheap if something breaks. If someone prefers to dyno race and thinks that what you do is stupid then what makes them any more right or wrong than you. I personally prefer roll racing. But I'll get on the strip and drag race too. You might beat me on the strip, but if I whup your ass in a roll race and that is more important to me then does that make you lame?

Looks like headers aren’t worth much

Different track and day but Lund went quicker without headers. Although they had front skinnies

To be expected these days. Stuff is getting better and better and more efficient from the factory to meet ever increasing demands of the epa etc

Headers on a 6g worth roughly 15-20 rwhp as well. So we don’t get a ton either
