AEM Wideband bung location

Those of you running a wideband, where are you mounting the bung for the O2 sensor? I know it has to be mounted at about a 3 O'clock position, I just wants sure in where on the exhaust it was supposed to go. Thanks.

In the cat delete pipes (between each front and rear O2 sensor as I run 2 WB's), and if you only run one, put it on the driver's side, where 5 and 7 are as they are typically the lean cylinders.

if the wideband has a narrow-band output,, i just use one of the original front o2 bungs. i have set them up this way with several different brands of widebands and no issues.

I put a bung in the side of the exhaust down pipe right after the manifold where it is easy to access from the side of the fender well. Just find a convienient place ahead of the cat and avoid the low side of the pipes where moisture could collect and contaminate the sensor. I can remove the plug and install my sensor just laying on the ground without any jacking.

okay so with a set of kooks LTs withhigh flow cats you just want it anywhere on the drivers side, infront of the cat but preferably not where the pipe is parallel to the ground?

Mount it as close to the collector as possible without causing interference with any clamps. You also want to ensure that it is not near a possible leak that could open up around a junction or clamp.

Also, to avoid moisture collecting on the sensor itself, you want to mount it just at or slightly above the 3 o'clock position as previously mentioned.

If you have stainless pipes, enjoy drilling that out. Buy a few bits or a badass stepped bit.

lastly, ensure that the welds around the bung are complete. I cannot tell you how many widebands read a few decimals off because of arrant leaks around the sensor.

Ps- and yes, mount BEFORE the cats if possible for the most accurate reading. Also, be sure to apply some anti seize lubricant to the threads of the sensor so you can remove down the road for service or calibration.
