You'll most likely never get your car back OP. Stay vigilant about unauthorized access to your personal info. Check your bank balances or better yet, contact your bank and let them know of the situation.

I'm sorry your car got stolen. Reading the owners manual, the Camaro does have an immobilizer. If the wrong key is used, it should not start. So these thieves must be using that high-tech remote code stealing device I saw on the news. From what I remember, they have to be in close proximity when you use the remote to lock the car. Then they are able to steal the last code and unlock the car. Not sure how they would start it though or open the hood until they got into the car.

I got an aftermarket alarm after the attempted theft of my 1LE last year. No system is full proof from a thief, but I sure do appreciate that pager notification. What I didnt know about the factory alarm is it doesnt go off until the door opens so all you have to do is get in through the sunroof or break a window. You can pull the hood release from there. Sorry for the loss of your personal items but at least the car is covered

Even with those, all they have to do is cut through the steering wheel and slide it out.

only real anti-theft device is to install & hide a fuel cut-off switch somewhere in the interior.
sorry about your loss OP, hopefully they find the assholes and your car is ok.
