Our group will be crossing through the Port Huron/Sarnia border. Anybody coming from the west that wants to meet up with us, please let me know!

I have been told that it is much less time consuming to go this way than to go through Windsor.

I will be figuring out two places to meet up with people, one just before Port Huron in Michigan and one once we are into Canada, maybe where the 402 meets the 401. (I still don't have any plans to meet anybody here...let me know if you are planning on meeting us here!)

My caravan is meeting at the Meijer Grocery store in Cascade (5531 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI) and heading out of the West Michigan area some time between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. This should put us at the Sarnia crossing AROUND 3:45 to 4:45 pm. We will stop to the Blue Water Bridge Duty Free Shop (http://www.bluewaterbridgedutyfree.com/) on the way through and I am thinking we should be at the 401/402 an hour and 45 minutes later (allowing a half hour to shop) around 5:30 or 6:15 pm. This should put us arriving in Oshawa around 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm.

These are all estimates. If anybody looks at this and says 'She's Crazy!', please let me know. I am relying on Mapquest for my time estimates!

Anna, we may see you, or we may not. I'm getting out of work at 3:00pm, stopping at home, then leaving from there. (US 127 and Lake Lansing road)

We intend to stop at the Duty Free shop and gas up before crossing over into Canada.

We were going to get something to eat along the way but I'm not sure where just yet. Flint, or Port Huron?

We just received word that the plant has cancelled Saturday production this week which means we will be attending the plant on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday afternoon. More news later once we figure out the new schedule.

Leaving Thursday AM - following Route 81 North crossing at 1000 Islands entry then 401 to Oshawa - ETA around 6pm.

Couple of tips:

- OnStar hands-free calling minutes are good for US and Canada
- AT&T Wireless offers a Canada add-on for $4.99 a month for 59 cents a minute within Canada, 9 cents to Canada.
- Good site for Duty Free limits - http://www.traveldocs.com/ca/customs.htm
- Peace Bridge website - http://www.peacebridge.com/index.php - has wait times and other great information for those crossing near Buffalo
- Border Wait times - http://apps.cbp.gov/bwt/

Well that just shot my weekend all to hell. I can only make the Saturday and truly wanted to meet everyone. :(

Come out to Nurse Chevrolet in the morning. We'll all be there. We might be going to the automotive museum on Saturday afternoon. You can also come out to the Saturday night activities.
