Weird Problem w/ L99 shifting

When driving in [D] mode the shifts are very sluggish and make the car buck. I can drive it in [M] mode and shift manually using the buttons and make it react how I desire but I prefer it to shift automatically. Well on accident I realized that if you switch into [M] but you don't touch the tap-shift it will continue to shift automatically but it does so with NO BUCKING at all, just smooth shifts.

What wire/coding/tuning is responsible for controlling the shifts during [D] mode and why is that different from the automatic mode you experience in [M] mode prior to pressing a tap-shift button?

Electrical experts please help!!

The shift points and line pressure for "D and "M" are tuned seperately and can be adjusted according to your preference. From the factory "M" is tuned more aggressively than"D".

So I should be able to tell my tuner to match the settings for "M" onto "D"? Its weird because in "D" after I got it tuned the shifts were super hard and crisp for 2 days but then after that they went back to being hesitant and awkward. I went back a couple days ago and they reset it to stock transmission tune but the problem remained. I was having this problem prior to the the tune, but since the tune put a bandaid on it for a day or two I'm puzzled.

I've been reading some other posts and people refer to "Sport" mode. Is that "M" without paddle shifting?

When I put mine in "M", "S" shows on the DIC and HUD, unless I use a paddle, then they shift to "M".

I believe the sluggish in “D” is caused by AFM kicking in? Or have u tuned AFM out? I personally use M gear on Sport mode, without paddles better shifting in IMO. From what I’ve read, AFM will still kick in when using “S” mode. Im Using Range v8, which disables AFM. Great product, and u get to keep your power train warranty. permagrin
