what is the purpose of the check valve?

Help slow the flow to allow more oil to fall out of suspension and not get sucked back into the intake. Putting an inline glass filter on the outlet line can be quite letting as to how efficient a given can really is. One would be surprised.

A check valve is defenitly necessary w/ a catch can if you are venting to the atmosphere, ie.. having an open element breather attached to the crankcase, leaving it no longer a sealed system such as a metco breather on the oil fill location. The theory behind that on boosted cars is to prevent pressurizing the crankase on a boosted application. Personally I don`t like that setup, but there are many people who swear by it. So each to their own, its all good.

This catch can has a divider in between the two ports that runs about a 1/3 of the way down, w/ metal media in the upper 1/3rd.

2010 SS L99, 536rwhp 10.843@126.72. Whipple Supercharger stock pulley, ARH 1 7/8 longtubes w/ catted xpipe, magnaflow 3" mufflers, ADM Race CAI, 3:70 gears, lightweight wheels and nitto drag radials. Stock internal L99, stock converter.

Bolt on best before blower 12.22@113.29 w/ nothing but ARH headers, catted x-pipe, ADM CAI and a tune on stock Pzero`s!

Other car 2008 C6 Ls3, z51, A6, Npp Exhaust, best bonestock pass 11.80@118.82, Number 2 on the Corvette Forums Bonestock fastest list..

Can`t hurt, our pcv systems even in stock form suck a little oil into the intake. And your not stock...Lol..
