Lots of threads about the device if you search. I haven’t looked in the last year, but I recall there being some perceived issues.....some hardware related, some software/tune related if the car got light of crests on track.

They've upgraded the controller several times and some of the early issues were heat related due to the temperature on the trunk floor of the Camaro and the Amp that sits on top of it. They now recommend putting down Dynamat or something similar under it. Porsche guys swear by it and there is a Youtube video that shows a nearly 2 second lap improvement on a ZL1.

On the Corvette is was a Love - Hate story depending on cars use. Please instruct on how to better search. I tried just "DSC Controller" and got a total of 7 ,,, 4 didn't actually have info about usage , just the DSC was somewhere in the thread.

What is wrong with the factory calibrations that you would want something like this?

I just specifically recall ample discussion and feedback from users posted in this forum over the past couple years. Best of luck! |

GM has been using MRC since the C5 Corvette, they have the programming and algorithms down. DSC, is just something different, not better. They soften up the ride in places to make it "seem" like the ride quality is better, but then ask the system to make bigger delta changes when you amp up your driving style. From most of the comments I have seen about it, there is one common theme... it creates a floaty feel and instability in certain situations because they relax the damping in normal driving.

I’m buddies with the OP and he knows I have a new gen DSC controller. I had it the last time we were at VIR and I think it made a difference but was in a run group that didn’t allow me much of any clear track. I still managed a decent lap but will know much better about the DSC controllers benefits when we go back in 3 weeks. If I run the lap I want to run on the stock tires then I will post the lap on the forum and probably be ranting about the product. We’ll see.

The early results were from the prototype in Luke's ZL1 A10 at Summit Point. Thanks for any info from the Camaro platform. If you have been to any of the DSC lectures, you would understand where GM left some room for improvement. Nothing wrong with GM's calibration; however, DSC has made adjustments to the GM parameters which allow quicker reactions of the MRC shocks. Vette guys love this controller. I just wanted to know if anyone recently had tried this in a Camaro. Fanatic will continue to prove this controller's worth.

The factory system changes the shock dampening based on wheel movement and not what the car is actually doing. The DSC controller uses G-forces, braking, and throttle data to more accurately use the factory hardware.

That is not a good measure. any number of differences can change lap times. Even within the same session, lap times can vary.
It is only something you would be able to tell while driving them, back to back in person. Both on the track AND the street. The street will be more telling since you are subject to a lot more difference road conditions and imperfections. On the street is where a suspension is really tested.
