Think of a 1990s version of any car of high value then and think about what it's worth today. Maybe, just ,maybe in 30+ years these cars will worth more than we paid.

A good example is the 2008 srt8 challenger if you paid msrp (most paid more) it was around $46,000. Today you can buy one with around 30,000 miles on it for the low 20s.

^... It would be nice to know what # our SGM cars were out of the ~2425 built world wide. Im curious though, is 2425 the actual (real) number produced by GM? Where did we find this number and how can we be certain about it? thx

FBodFather IS GM...the numbers are good and accurate (I haven't added them, but I trust him). If I were an owner of one of the TF or SGM cars, I'd be printing out Scott's posting and documenting who he is so that you at least have some form of documentation on your car for 40+ years down the road.

I've never searched for a Camaro Black Book, but there is one produced for the Corvette that lists options and totals on production. You'd probably have to wait til late 2010 or 2011 for the edition that would have 2010 production numbers versus just option code listings without numbers, but again, a good source of documentation.

Thank goodness this is a GM option as it has a code versus some dealer's idea or aftermarket modifier's idea...these can normally be duplicated fairly easily and since they don't have option codes listed, it becomes hard to prove... You should be able to access printed material in various locations that demonstrates the production numbers once final production numbers start filtering out to the public.

I'm in this process with our GT1 Corvette. I knew at 125 total produced I needed to document, document, document just in case it ever proved valuable. Once we documented it was one of one produced as ordered, I knew just how important documentation was. Will our car ever be "collectible"...who knows...its as difficult as judging which of the 5th gen (if any) Camaro is truly collectible.

Enjoy the car!

The Camaro White Book covers the first 35 years from 1967-2002.

Lots of great information there, hopefully it will be continued and reissued.

The publisher would be an idiot not to reinstitute this book....and they aren't idiots...its published by the Corvette Black Book folks (just found this out...thanks blaSSt for pointing me in the right direction!). Late 2010 publication date for all of your Camaro number crunching pleasure!

FBodFather did make an error proving he is human but sense has corrected it.

Thanks FBodFather for the corrected Numbers. I greatly appreciate it mine maybe 1 of 1753 in U.S. but I bought it to drive and I will for as long as it lasts

2ss/rs TFE, loving it. So I'm 1 of 1753.

As to the Syngergy green low production numbers... this does mean your car is more rare, it also means it's rare because people didn't want it so they didn't order it. It could help or hurt you. Same with the TFE stuff... eh. I didn't buy my car as an investment, I bought it to reward myself for a life well lived.
