Maybe this is an undercover operation by Chevy to "save the manual." Shoving it down our throats from the beginning would suggest they may succeed.

But guys I wouldn't worry too much. They have to sell the cars to make money. There will be several A-10s on the lot with every option. Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas gets more ZL1s than anyone in the metroplex. They will have them for sure and I'll be there to scoop one.

The scarcity principle/tactic has been one of the greatest marketing tools ever introduced. Some will move on to a Ford or Dodge, but most won't and they know it.

The cars will be here soon enough and we'll forget all about these little hiccups with one blip of the throttle.

Where did the 6-8 month estimate come from. Theoretically, if I order next week an M6 coupe, should I not get it within 3-4 months, like "normal"?

I think the 6-8 month figure is being thrown out for the A10. Manual owners should see their's by Jan.

Ok, I wasn't sure, I've even seen media - citing this site - saying estimates are 6-8 for M6 and 8-10 for Auto. I hope you're right.

Yes M6 if your dealer gets allocation can be ordered on Sept 8 with first day of production Oct 10.

MXO autos are Q 1 2017 at the earliest pending all goes smooth but could be much later ...

Fella's (& ladies) remind me please, it's been several years since playing the build game with the SS... The dealer knows what their allocation number is but when do they actually find out whether they are allocated in that cycle? For instance, the Sept 8 cycle: Do they know before that day or only when they place the order at event 1100 from the Preliminary field? GO TSGHF5!!!

All of the dealers around me appear to know their exact Allocation numbers as they have already advised me their individual numbers...they have known for several weeks already. From the Inventory manager with whom I already left a deposit and set up a workbench with, this allocation is for phase 1 and are all the ZL1s they will get for the first four(4) months of production, so until around Feb there will be no additional ZL1s built. No one that I have asked has any allocation numbers for Phase 2 yet (Conv/A10) release. Hope that is helpful...?
