I think you're right. It seems to me the second gens have ridiculously long doors.

I won't mind that, will on purpose park AWAY from the shopping cart parking since we've got a big bump in the door of the Saab where some ashoole drove a cart into it and didn't have the guts to stick around to pay the repairs. I DO NOT want that to happen to my Camaro.

I wonder how many of the body panels will be metal. For example, fourth gens. only had metal hoods and quarters (excluding SSs and WS6s.) So will the fifth gen. have an all-metal body?

I think I am going to have to build another garage just to store it.

Don't think she will approve, but oh well.

Yes, but the positive side is wide should help with handling on the curves as long as the center of gravity on the new Camaro is low enough.

Anyone think that the rear has a resemblance to the Corvette's rear? Seems like it from the recent black camaro pics.

Ed (I think ) mentioned in his recent interview that the Camaro had some influences from the corvette.

I definately see some influences from 'Vette, and that is just great to me because I LOVE how the C6 looks, especially the Z0 and ZR models. I just think Camaro is a work of art, because just like many from GM has said, it has many details from the '69 but still has a lot of contemporary changes. I know nothing about style or anythink like that, but the first time I saw the car, my jaw dropped and I fell in love. I can't say the same for the first time I recognized the Camaro (LT1 of early 90's vintage) as something I would be an enthusiast about, but this car; OH MAN; SSOOOOO beautiful. I can't see how they could've done a better job at bringing it back.

If the space is really an issue for opening the doors, I think that I'll buy a set of scissor hinges, and install them, that way, i wouldn't have to worry about it.

Some of the recent photos shows the rear view nicely. Maybe its the angle but in some pics the back's height to width ratio seems a bit off. I love how the concept looked cause it was just sooo wide and not too tall. I'm thinking maybe this look has something to do with the black lower panel on the bumper? Or is it the lack of spoiler (which I would think would add even more to the height tho) ??

Take a look at the photos of the car snapped in the Florida parking lot... you can get a reasonable idea of the car's width from the way it fits into the parking spot, leaving lots of space between the edge of the car and the white lines of the parking spot... and it doesn't necessarily look like a "supersize" spot.

Best regardSS,

Elie
