Brake Pedal acting up....

Alright I need some opinions;

I was pulling my car out of the garage this morning and when I would press onto the Brake pedal it sounded like a pump. As if I was pumping air into a basketball or something and I would feel air coming onto my foot when the brake pedal was pressed.

What can this be? It's very strange.

I would take it to the dealer, don't take chances with your brakes.

Thanks, I will most likely head over there tomorrow.

wonder if it was some kind of abs system test. anything unusual about the way you started and moved it?

Is there a rubber boot around the brake pedal at the firewall? Could be as simple as it came loose from the firewall and the ambient air inside it is now blowing on your foot and you can hear it when you depress the pedal.

The car brakes fine. I just found it rather odd that it was making such a loud noise. I definitely haven't noticed it before

Ah, I will check this when I get back home. You may be right. I'll report back here as soon as I take a look at it.

Thanks!

Mine makes a really, really fast "ta ta ta" when im going in reverse and apply the brakes. Only does it once in a while, really weird, but braking is perfect none the less. is this something to worry about?

Nice to know I'm not alone on this one. I should be home within the hour to check on that rubber boot 10Forty2 was talking about

Mine does exactly what you describe. It only does it when I back out of my driveway...sometimes. Everything has always seemed to work okay though. Scares the hell out of me each time it does it.

I feel that if I took it in for this, it wouldn't do it while at the shop. Then I would bet my car back with a new chip in the paint, like last time.

It shouldn't be anything to worry about. Mine does the same, but yesterday I noticed it more than usual. There was a rubber piece that connects on the top of the brake pedal that was loose. You may want to check that out yourself
