What I think of my Volant Powercore CAI
Well I finally added my first "mod" to my car last weekend, a Volant Powercore CAI. Normally I wanted an Injen or Vararam intake but I found a great deal on it and a free cleaning kit so I couldn't pass it up. Install was very easy, fit and finish of the intake was very impressive. After driving it I fell in love with the sound it makes, especially under heavy to full acceleration after 4000 RPM. In no way is it annoying while normal driving but it has a nice growl to it when she wakes up. As far as power, it definitely feels fast but that could just be the placebo effect. My guess would be I picked up somewhere around 5-10 rwhp but nothing more. Hopefully sometime next week I'll get my Airaid throttle body spacer put on (for noise, I know it doesn't add power). Anyway I'd definitely recommend Volant to anyone it's a great intake especially for the price. I picked up the intake and cleaning kit for 187.50 $ shipped. Here's some pictures:
