I think our boy BGKySS is our best shot, we just have to wait for him to figure it out and tell us.

I had the intake on the car today..well part of it. Be ready for a let down on both the cowl and hood. Will throw up some pictures in the morning.

What's wrong with purchasing a different size cowl hood? If you really want the power gains or the looks from the intake don't let the hood stand in your way

Nothing but 1) I really like my GTZ hood 2) I'm personally not a fan of tall cowl hoods.

So would we have to remove the windshield wiper too?

I will say this its CLOSE, but wont fit. Looks like roughly like it will need about a 3/4 of an inch in both height and depth at the cowl, and the hood is 1 5/8 inches from closing at the front most edge.

So questions. It seems I can have each part of the intake milled a little bit and can miill 3/4 inch off there, what else can be done to get a little more height shaved off the motor? Can engine mounts be swapped for a set that will drop it down at all? How much can actually be trimmed off the cowl and keep the wipers? how sturdy would the hood be with the supports trimmed?

Thanks

Wish it was in front of me. There may be a few ways to make it fit. My first choice would be to modify the cowl. Next might be to modify the intake itself but not by trying to mill it. On the back area where it hits the cowl you may be able to cut a section off of the manifold and weld a piece in that is flat or with a different contour to give it clearance but without a better look I'm not sure if that would affect the flow characteristics.

Will the fitment be even worse once you bolt-on a throttle body?

Too bad you didn't take pics.

Can you get it under the cowl easily?

I was thinking about the milling idea last night. You could mill some off of the top of the manifold and some off of the base of the air box. How much IDK. Then I'm thinking if desperate you could mill a little from the mating surfaces between the two halves of the lid and re-cut the original groove. Could you pull off 3/4" IDK. Maybe though.

As for the front by the TB IDK either. Maybe just cut an opening in the brace for the top of the manifold in it.

Also IMHO if you can't get it to fit that way and you need a new hood you might as well get the Hi-Ram.

With the high ram you loose the wiper, I think you could retain it with this. I'll let you know when I do mine. Lol

True... I forgot about that. I'm out on this manifold though. I'm not losing my hood, I like it too much.
I'm not happy about this because I think it will perform well.
