Should I be worried about anything?
I really want to goto the track with my car next month. I've never been on the drag strip, but I love to drive fast. I was concerned about the possibilty of breaking anything , or pushing the car to its limits repeatedly, It my dd and I don't really wanna void my warranty.? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks

You haven't modded it yet. Not much to worry about. Check your oil, lower your tire pressure on the stock tires to around 25 psi, (works for me on my ss based on track conditions) so you gain a little extra traction.
I think you have a V6, press the traction control button for 7 seconds disabling all traction control while you do the burn out, or roast your tranny.... Tap the traction button once, bringing it back into normal driving mode. I would do this for your first few runs then you can try competitive mode, two quick taps.. Gives you a bit of security as you go down the track. I'm still working on my 60 foot times and my car is modified. Leave when the 3rd amber light lights up and enjoy the ride. Make sure you know how to enter and exit the track.. this will probably make you want to upgrade a lot xD V6's are pretty quick with a lot of mods.

I told my friends that if I didn't like drag racing I'd sell my helmet and forget it. I still have the helmet! There's a quote out there though, don't race what you can't afford to light on fire and push off a cliff. Good luck with your choice.

If your on stock tires no need to roast the tires. I did my first track day last weekend and said it was more fun then the day I got my car.

On stock tires, go around the water box, you don't need to do a big burnout on stock tires

Our local club put together a few tips for our members that are first timers at the strip. It may be informative to you. Give it a read.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same. Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different. I can't wait for my next Track fix.
