Two questions about the seats
I'm not too sure where to post this so I figured I'd drop it in the general section.
1. What the heck is the handle/flap behind the seats? 2. Is there a quick way to pull the seats forward to allow a passenger into the back or do I really have to wait on the power seats to slowly lean forward and then slowly lean all the way back every time? I searched the forums and couldn't find results, my bad if this has been covered a million times! |

You answered your second question, with your first question. The flap behind the seats (although hard to flip up) is what causes the seats to quickly flip forward to allow a passenger to enter the rear w/o having to wait for the seats to slide forward.

1--> That is what allows the seat back to fold forward. Sometimes it is hard to lift up, so use a little force
2--> Passenger side, pull seat forward with manual lever, use that handle/flap to allow seat back to fold forward. |

The handle is to push the back support part of the seat forward to let a passenger in the back, the handle aiming toward the floor is to pull the seat in closer to the dash; both of these steps together will allow someone to get in the back easily.I don't have both electric powered

Pulling on the handle on the back of the seat will tilt the seat back forward for access to the back seat.

I might also add that that flap on the back gave me tons of trouble when I first got my car, I couldn't figure this out either. I feel like I broke my noob cherry by answering a question for someone!

Lmao! No kidding? Wow, I figured that's what it was for but I didn't want to bend the plastic until it broke. It's tough as hell, I'll have to give it another shot when I go home.

The more you use it, the more worn in, easier it gets. My kids ride in the back fairly regularly. They now know where it is, and can slide the seats themselves as needed. We have a Trailblazer as a "Family Vehicle".. but who wants to ride in a TB when theres an SS sitting in the driveway?? They know the rules though... any fingerprints on it and they are helping clean it!! Muahaha.

Try pushing back on the headrest while lifting that handle. I found that if you don't the mechanism willl bind because of the forward pressure put on the seat back by the act of lifting that handle. It solve my problem with them binding for the most part.

I feel really stupid wording it like this, but you really have to get the feel for it in order for it to work right. I press my thumb to the back of the seat while pulling the lever with one hand, while pushing forward the headrest with my other hand.

Thanks for this thread. I thought I was the only one who had stiff release handles on my seats. The world is a much better place now

One thing I have noticed is that you have to make sure not to push the seat forward before the latch releases. My daughter loves to push on the seat at the same time as pulling the lever, all you are doing is binding the lever. If you do not push the seat forward it is much easier.
