I think it'll be pretty close. Your car's gotta' be close to 3400 lbs. and I'm sure he's probably another 100+ lbs. or so with that top - I don't know for sure though. It sounds more like a driver's race

Race SAFE and WIN for the love of God!!!

A stock V6 Mustang convertible? Haha I put shame to V6 mustangs in my little FWD 205hp Supercharged Cobalt.

I'd say even with your 4th Gen Camaro w mods I think you will take him.

The current gen V6 Mustangs are slow...

That I can't tell you. I don't know squat about 4th gen Camaros but from what you indicated with what you have on your V6 Camaro, I think you have a very good chance... How much does your Comaro weigh in at?

I know that a stock current gen V6 Mustang has like what 210 or 220 (crank) hp? It does 0-60 in like 6.9 seconds... Probably weighs like 3400lbs or something... IDK I'm too lazy right now to look up it's stats...

Again from a dig I raced this one V6 Mustang (coupe) and I walked him off the line... (no idea if it was a stick or auto, but I'm assuming auto) but the SS/SC stock does 0-60 in low 6's... and I raced a couple from a 40mph roll and I had like 3+ car lengths on them by the time I was probably doing 70mph...

I lost to a 350Z in my IROC, and that think was certainly much faster than the 4th gen v6's were. Unless I'm much mistaken, the mustang V6 and the camaro v6 both have 210 flywheel horsepower, but the mustang has more torque. It should weigh more though, and if you have mods and he's completely stock, you should win. It'll probably be close.

350Z's are 13's second cars stock....

Basically they are almost as quick as a current gen Mustang GT.

I was looking into getting one before I thought about the Camaro.

camaro- t-tops, performance air filter, performance spark plugs, rp oil, automatic i think it has around 207-211 hp.
tho the mustang is faster stock for stock but his is a convertable and is heavier and mine is t-tops which is lighter and mine has some upgrades.
Can i pull off a win?
DON'T race on the street PLEASE... take it to a track, It isn't worth risking your life or someone elses just to prove a point. Have you ever thought what can happen out on the "street in the middle of nowhere" too many things is what. at least a dragstrip should not have any unexpected things to jump out in front of you. the track should be consistant for the total distance...

I wonder why the mods have not pulled this thread since it mentions racing on the street... that i thought was a big No No...

pulling it wouldn't allow responses like yours to be read.
pulling it would be akin to ignoring the issue...sweeping it under the rug.

And, though I don't think anybody here condones it...a street in the middle of nowhere shows a little more sense than the fools to smoke-screened a busy highway...

DON'T STREET RACE. Take it to a track; you get timeslips for proof.

Well im not really racing on a red then start on a grren light lol. I live in arizona and there is tons of abondon roads everywhere and the bushes are small so u can see a car coming (cop) if it were 2 miles away. and the roads are actually paved well and wide. and no of is have exhaust so noise won't be a problem.

thats what i do. the track where i live is like 45 mins away. so really no big deal. plus most of the time when we go theres always a few fellow muscle car drivers there. and we usually band together to beat any ricers there. lol.
we have a bbq, watch cars race, have burnout comps, and my favorite is talking with the other drivers; since im still young and learning.
we are always extremely careful. theres always a few of us there that have medical training and we all have fire extinguishers and any tool we could possibly need.
