I read on another site from someone who talked with reps at an auto show. He was told the new models are actually a few hundred lbs heavier than the past trucks. That's a bit disappointing.

That said, crew cab Colorado to crew cab Silverado, the midsize is supposed to be some 900 lbs lighter.

What does a Silverado Crew cab weigh anyways? I know it depends on configuration.

It's a huge improvement to the current model imo.

Then again the GMT-355s weren't exactly the most sophisticated things ever.

The new trucks are heavier but you get a much better truck.

From the Chevy site
Silverado Crew short box 5218 lbs
Silverado Crew standard box 5292 lbs

so 4451 lbs +/- could be about right for the Colorado

Looks like to get the 3.6 in the Impala you have to go from a 1LT to 2LT and that is a $975 difference. I read somewhere that it was estimated that the new diesel in the 1/2 Ram is gonna be $4000 over their base V6. That would have to make the diesel in the Colorado $2000-$3000 over base right?

Oh also the fuel economy for the international 2.8L auto was 9.2L/100km. I converted and it came out to 25.6 MPG. Hopefully ours will be better. I'm getting more and more excited for this!!

Different countries have different ratings systems, you can't really compare one to another

Correct. The Hemi is 1100-1200 bucks more than the base v6, the diesel is 4000 more. (Where the v6 is the standard engine depending on trim level)

Have to do a lot of driving to make that diesel pay for itself.

I think it looks great. Although with any midsize truck, the 2wd, short bed, single cap versions always look incredibly stupid. Havent seen any that i like yet. But this does look pretty damn good!

No doubt about that in my mind...these things should be solid. Great Silverado-like frame with proven powertrains.

I will be in this or the Canyon eventually. Just need my current GM355 to keep me going for a few years lol.

So...I'm really bored at work and noticed what I think is a goof on the Colorado site:

At the top of the page you can select three different "Bodystyle's"
- Extended Cab, Standard Box
- Crew Cab, Standard Box
- Crew Cab, Long Box

But if you click between the three repeatedly, you'll notice that "Extended Cab, Standard Box" looks more like it should be called "Extended Cab, Long Box"

Or am I missing something?

I guess it's kind of a goof, but it's the only bed you can get with an Extended Cab. They probably should've just left off the bed part of the description completely.

Hell no man....seeing that we might be able to get a crew cab long bed makes me want to wait for it even more.

and the video of the black one (the youtube walk-around one) looks like it has a bedliner from the factory...so in summation:

Diesel
+
Crew Cab
+
Long bed
+
Factory Bed Liner
=

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
