I finally get it!
There isn't really much point to this post other than to say that now I understand the passion with the Z/28. I love my ZL1, but I finally saw a Z/28 in person at the dealer. Went to Reno for my daughters volleyball tournament and had some time so stopped by the Chevy dealer because I knew they had one of the only Z/28s left. They fired it up and I sat in it. Didn't drive it, but could immediately see how much it felt like a race car. The stance is meaner than a ZL1 and it just had that "raw" feeling that I love. My head tells me that my ZL1 is a better DD (I have 30000 miles on my 2014), but my heart wants the Z/28. I don't care that the ZL1 is faster in a straight line, there is just something special about that car. It had been in their showroom for a year and a half and their sales manager was dying to get rid of it. For me, with the 2017s around the corner I couldn't justify even a great deal, but if there's anybody out there looking for a Z/28, today is the last day of Chevy's 15% rebate ($11,500 off according to him). I want the car, but just can't do it. Again, no real point to this post other than to say I am envious of you guys that own Z/28s. Truly special car!

Its going to eat at you until some time down to road you have one. Then youll be kicking yourself thinking about all the fun you could have been having all these years.

You should see what the dealer would give you for your ZL1. The difference maybe closer than you think?
Like Zslash28 said, it'll eat you up. I had a Cad V2 and had the "inner struggle". She's raw and loud (for some) with no luxo cabin. Compared to the modern day cars, the lack of gadgets, electronics, nav, etc. allows you to enjoy the car even more. |

How were you able to leave the dealership with Z/28 staring at you with it's stance?

I did the same thing... I was dragged away by the wife with arms stretched out. She said I couldn't have been serious, especially since I just bought the ZL1. But sadly, I wanted both... and I still can't stop thinking about the Z/28. It will haunt me forever...

Hell, at this rate, a new Z/28 may still be available after you payoff your ZL1. :-) In all seriousness, it's a great car. I was in a similar situation, but it had been about 18 months since I'd bought (at a deep discount) the ZL1. I worked a pretty good trade and had to convince the wife, but she didn't put up too much of a fuss. If you still have the itch in a year or 2, I imagine there will be some low mileage cars available.

My Z/28 makes my ZL1 feel soft. No comparison other than the HIDs. Z/28 lights suck.
