Installed the Hurst shifter today and I love it. I bought the black anodized Hurst logo ball and I think it looks great on the inside of the car. Not that much of movement like you had mentioned in your first post..... My only complaint is the amount of force it takes to shift into gears, like you had mentioned..... Does that break in and get a little easier over time?

Dec 12, 2012 I put in a MGW short throw shifter. I finally decided to get the MGW shifter but wondered if I really would be able to say worth the money. The improvement is unreal and driving truly is much more fun to have a racing shifter. I have to say the quality is amazing and had no idea what a piece of crap the stock shifter is. The stock shifter is completely limp and the lever arm is actually made of three parts: ball is press fit onto a two piece lever arm held together with an elastomer. I no longer have the shifter jump out of first gear when I take off from red light. Each gear is a good firm "click" into gear. Before I could pump the clutch faster then going into gear. Now a flick of the wrist is faster then my leg. Shifting takes more effort but is so quick and precise. I have black and gray interior and got a black rally ball with "pearl gray" strips. Looks amazing and matches my black interior and door panels/interior pearly gray. The install was fun and simple with online installation video .

Wait until those springs wear in a little. By design they are a little tight at first. I still LOVE my MGW!
