LMAO!! I surely will do the same. I was just making a point that I think a lot of people would make if they have the means to. I'm set on a Z as my son turns 16 in 2012 and I'm giving him my Tahoe and it'll be perfect for me to walk(or fly) into a showroom and drive out.

Really? Sucks for me I guess, lol. I bought mine in March of '09. I could've walked out under 70k but I bought the Mastercare plan and a couple of other warranties.

I love my CTS-V. After a trip to Lingenfelter, it put down 539HP and 550TQ through the stock exhaust and manifolds. All for around two grand. If the new Z-28 gets the LSA engine, an 80HP and torque bump (like the Caddy) will be incredibly easy.

Hold out for the version of the V that's built for export to the Middle East!
609 HP and torque is rated at 793 lb.ft.!!
http://www.cadillacme.com/content_da...S-V/specs.html
Amazin' what you can do when you still sell leaded gas...
2 piece performance rotors + a diff cooler are standard as well.

Best regardSS,

Elie

Really? On a different forum one of the members quoted those specs and was flamed. So those ones don't have catalytic converters?

My understanding has always been that leaded gas will annihilate a catalytic
converter. When GM started putting cats into their vehicles in 1975, the filler necks on these cars were made narrower, specifically to prevent the cars being filled with leaded fuel. The nozzles on pumps with leaded fuel would not fit into the filler necks of cars equipped with a catalytic converter.

Best regardSS,

Elie

sorry for bumping this old thread back up. I was searching about this after I came back from the dealership and this thread came up and I still cant believe this. it even says in the brochure they gave me that it has 609HP and 793TQ but im 99% postive that this info is not true. I cant believe its also shown in their website. can anyone confirm if this is true? I ran few CTS-Vs in the middle east and im sure they dont have 793TQ NO WAY......

edit: it also says it does 0-60 in 3.9s which is exactly the same for the NORMAL 556HP cts-v..... now im 100% sure its a typo

That torque is what grabbed my attention... That can't be right. I could see the HP, but the difference in torque is like 200! There's something fishy there - maybe there's a conversion error or something.

a guy in a different forum sent them an email few hours ago and that what they said....

"Dear Mr. XXXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting Cadillac and for your interest in the 2010 CTS-V! We appreciate the time you have taken to write us.

The CTS-V that is sold in the United Arab Emirates is tuned differently than the version that is sold in the U.S. Therefore, the vehicle has 53 more horsepower in the U.A.E, than the vehicle that is sold here in the states. We hope that this information was useful to you"

this was sent to the help centre in the US, not the middle east. I just sent them an email too, because I know this cant be right will write back asa i get a response.

I didnt even mention the United Arab Emirates lol, and I asked about how both cars does 0-60 in 3.9 sec which cant be right since there is 242TQ and 53HP difference and both weights the same, but only thing i got was this

"" We apologize, but we are unable to advise you on such technical matters.""

I wish by just tuning I will gain 242TQ in the camaro.... CTS-V owners, you guys need to get a TUNE, GM is taking away 53HP and (((242TQ)) off your cars

I still have a hard time with the torque numbers, BUT, I'm not too suprised. Don't they get higher octane gas over there in Europe and overseas? Perhaps that's part of the reason - more aggressive timing and tuning and such. I believe I remembered an LS1tech thread where one of the first tuners got ahold of CTS-V and tuned it and got another like 40 RWHP or something crazy.

I'm not too suprised, but that's still pretty cool
