2011 Camaro radio locked

So my factory radio stopped working. So i bought another and now it says locked. Is there anyway to unlock it?

I believe they are VIN specific. If you bought it used it needs to be programmed. If you bought from dealer it should have been programmed already to the VIN

This is correct. They have to be programmed for your car. Can’t just replace it with another one. Crazy idea from GM.

If your not in love with the factory stereo. Get yourself an aftermarket faceplate and head unit and enjoy the technology your factory unit does not have and don’t worry about getting dealer to program factory one to your vin. Aftermarket’s don’t need that done.

I believe gen5DIY can unlock it it may be worth emailing him. You may even be able to get the mylink radio with the large screen working on your car

The VIN has to be programmed into the EEPROM in the radio (or at least the donor vehicle's VIN needs to be cleared)
