Catch Can Question

If I'm only going to put 6500 miles a year on my car do I still need a Catch Can? Thanks

you don't ever need one, but they are great at keeping your engine cleaner

True.

Like, if you are only going to be driving 6500 miles a year, do you need insurance? no, but it's highly recommended. The goal is to help prolong the life of your engine, with all options out there.

Exactly
all it does is catch small amounts of atomized oil that would be burned off by the engine...
I believe that this is also better for the environment, instead of being burned and dispersed into the atmosphere, the contents of my catch can are dumped onto my neighbors lawn.

I just emptied out mine right now. Half full of crap. Was really light this time because of the cold weather condensation i think.

Yes, the condensation causes it to look creamy.
I was freaking out last year when the same thing happened to me, because creamy oil can be the sign of a blown head gasket
JDP Tyler set me straight.

it's a relatively cheap mod and can't hurt as long as installed properly and emptied regularly.

That is the theory anyways. Problem with it is that is not what happens to a lot of it.
