I understood that if you start off slowly, it would be a second gear start. But if you romp it, it would start in first.

Well, unless I did a 13.37 quarter mile and 0-60 in 5.1 starting in second gear, then I guess I started in first. I did all my runs in 'D' and not 'S'.

According to the GM tech taht my dealer talked to, the car will adjust down to low grade but NOT up from low grade. If you get low grade gas in your car, you will have to take it to the dealer. (or do the 5/20 )

It's insane how this slipped passed the dealers like that.

well the good news to this is that you can baby the car with the proper break in, then pull a fuse for ass kick mode.

If the system was meant to adjust both ways we should see this coming from the dealers. I can tell you that they are well aware of the situation. My dealer called me to get me in to do the reset. Of course this was just after I had done it and I had someone looking into it for me. It may very well be that it isn't suposed to be adjusting up but that you are simply suposed to run only high grade fuel in it or run the risk of having to take it in to get reset. Or in this case do the fuse thing. We are fortunate enough to be part of an information and 'do it yourself' comunity here.

Of the system was meant to adjust back up after dropping to the lower table them I trust that GM will get the update out soon.

That is what I am talking about, I am just baffled! I felt like a second class citizen when I brought the problem to their attention. And of course someone here finds the solution with no official word from GM. I just don’t get it.

Honestly, I think you should write a letter to the dealers owner and to a few GM folks, including Fritz: http://www.gmreinvention.com/ Look on the right side for "Tell Fritz" and enter the issue right there. Do not make your point as a bitchfest but rather as a communication/competency problem that must be addressed by GM.

I would also reccommend all of you L99 folks to send your stories to gmcustomerassistance@gm.com and address your email to Kevin Williams, GMNA Vice President, Service & Parts Operations. Believe it or not, he will get them and read them.

I will say this; The person that I e-mailed with my dissatisfaction got right on my case and my dealer eventually called me with what would have been the fix. She said they weren't going to pull the fuses but reset it from the inside but what I did was the same thing. So this was going to happen, we just woudn't have found out about the fuse pull til a little later.

What about the guys that went and got tunes on there ECMs.Now they are without a warranty when a quik fuse pull may have been enough to satisfy them. GM needs to address this problem. Pulling a fuse is not a permanent fix in my book. The problem could accrue again.
