Question about the sharkfin
Hi, I know this was sort of covered before, but now that the Scosche kit is out and people like me have after market stereos (Kenwood), I have a question that wasn't covered -- I had my unit professionally installed, and the technician attached (double-sided tape) the Kenwood GPS antenna and the Sirius antenna modules to my dash at the top. They seriously look like two roach motels and I want them outta sight. Can they simply be re-routed to the sharkfin antenna? Will that need some kind of conversion kit? Will I lose any functionality? (Such as AM/FM radio signal). I was under the impression that the sharkfin was there for all that and can be re-used. The factory Sirius was XM and the new version that came with my kit is Sirius. Is it a simple procedure? Was my car tech just being a lazy f#*k?

Yes, but it's complicated. The sharkfin is a data wire for your XM radio and Onstar. The AM/FM radio antenna is built into the back window.
