DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?
Guys I dont want this thread to get outta hand so please post with the utmost respect for any culture and any religious beliefs out there, but lately I have been soul searching.
Recently I am really down about stuff I cant go into here but today was one of my lowest days ever. I was brought up with a strict religious upbringing. I am now 42! Lately I have been pondering whether the religion(s) that we all know are true or not. It is my personal believe that there IS A GOD but not a GOD as we have been taught in all the great religions of this world. I believe that there is indeed a Prime Creator but I truly now believe that religion was man made to control the masses. And different religions were formed from splinters of certain religions and there is no better way to get people to act in the name of THEIR religions. I now truly believe that WE are much more BIGGER than we realise and that there are massive spiritual energies inside us that we can use for good or bad but we have not been taught because it has been kept hidden from us using a belief system called religion etc. There is a lot to this that I just dont wanna go into. Im not trying to offend anyone at all but today I'm just asking for your prayers, whatever religion you may be, so that I can get over the ordeal I am going through. I do BELIEVE in the power of prayer (whatever the religion) because of the positive energies that is created by it and the humanity of it. Forgive me if I offended anyone at all with this post. I would love to hear your views with respect.

i feel a similar way. i believe there is a god but that religion was created by Him to ultimately give us freedom of will in what we want to believe. whether it be Him, our religion, our own personal beliefs, or the belief that there is no God. whatever your idea is on religion i respect it, and would gladly fight to protect the right to believe whatever you want to believe.

I also believe in God and am the same age as you. The trick is not to believe the Bible verbatim or you will become jaded. I can point out so much crap in the Bible that it's easy to see how someone can give up on religion. Every minister/priest/reverand/pastor has a different take on the Bible which should tell you something right there.
Believe in one God and be true to your beliefs of him and nobody elses.

I believe in a higher power.
Beyond all that, we are here for you, Bro!! I hope whatever challenges you are facing can be assuaged by trust, belief, and by reaching out for help. I believe when you ask for help, you receive it. Beyond that, I can only say -- stay STRONG. Stay faithful, and know that whatever challenges you face will make you stronger for the challenge. We are here for you.

hey man, you'll surely be in my prayers. i don't know what's going on in your life & it's none of my business, but it's definitely, in no way, too big for God. just listen deep inside & you will feel Him guiding you in the way towards recovery. a lot of times, we get so bogged down with "what am i gonna do?" & "how will i get myself out of this?" the most useful solution i've found to to pray & trust God to see you through. also, another thing i've found helpful is good counsel. find someone you trust as a spiritual authority or equal (not necessarily a minister... a close friend who has a strong walk with the Lord is sometimes more helpful because they know you better), and share your story with them so they can support you with love and prayer. if any of this helps, great... if not, oh well. just know you at least got people on here supporting you!

And I believe in God as well.
When I needed him, He was there. I am a firm believer and that's all I have to say. I wish you the best with your situation. |

I am a firm believer in God as three parts. The Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. My prayers are with you and my only advice would be to pray and ask God yourself to help you answer your question. I believe he is already answering it right here at this moment. Keep the faith as God is always there to help when he is asked..

I do not. But I believe that people need their faith in many ways regardless of whether a higher being exists or not.
I am not from a religious family, or region and nor do I know anyone that does either - so I find it hard to understand what it's all about (the God figure anyway). I'm a man that believes in science and extraterestrial life and God doesn't really fit for me.

I was taught as you were. Sunday school, the whole thing. I'm 47yrs old.
I believe more in a type of karma now, more than traditional teaching. I still believe some entity started something somewhere, the cosmos didn't just happen. I think you touched on a lot of things I agree with, like religion helps people to deal with things by giving us hope and faith. When I pray or ask for something, it makes the wish real and valid in my mind. Chanting does this as well. Traditional Reggae music is most appealing to me, as they chant and give thanks and praise to Jah. I was displaced in Vermont for 8 years and prayed and asked to go home for years, and here I am, in Florida, home. There's a great book I read about asking for the things you want, and doing it effectively. Kind of modified, modern prayer. This helped me last in VT 'till the opportunity to move home came around. I found it...$9.99 at Amazon, it's a small sized book - top seller: The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life There's 557 reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Prayer-Jabez-B...7259563&sr=8-1 I'm sorry you are being challenged so greatly. I will be thinking about you, and asking for help for you. Just saw this: Temporarily out of stock. |
