New Turbo suggestion.

So I am starting to look around to upgrade my turbos. I know you can look at power potential outputs of these turbos but I'm looking for real life experiences.

I am curious to hear from everyone that has a twin Turbo setup on an otherwise stock SS camaro. I'm interested in spool time, overall top end power, and drivability.

Any and all feedback is welcome and I hopefully would like to hear experience from all makes like turbonetics, precision, Garrett, eBay turbos. Everything. :-)

Comp Triple Ball Bearing turbo's or Precision Turbo's. We sell both brands.
Garret and Turbonetics are great as well. You cant go wrong with any of the 4 mentioned.

I'm running Garret GT35 ball bearing turbos, billet wheel. I love the spool time on them, it's almost instant and you don't notice any lag. Drivability......well their turbos so you'll have no problems losing traction at full boost! I know Darth Emma is running the same turbos as me, but we've both done a lot engine wise. Robert is running precision turbos I believe. I'm sure he'll chime In soon enough!

Thank you, exactly what I'm looking for. I have the same traction issue currently but my spool time is very sad.

Where did you purchase yours from?

I was running GT3582's with billet upgrade with my stock engine. What a great turbo for power and spool up with stock engine! Now, both me and Emma do have upgraded engines, and by Jeff@ips suggestion have moved up to GT 3794's. This is great performing turbo in import world capable making 800 hp single. Twins will be just right for us....

Awesome, thank you. I will eventually be building the motor, but want to get a stable powerhouse now while I build up the drivetrain and take care of the traction issues before building the motor. I am very familiar with the gt35's from when I had my import days. It seems like the same holds true with us as well. :-)

Im running two Precision PTE6265 turbos (billet ball bearing). I have basically no lag issues. At about 2k you can hear them spooling up. When not in boost its like driving a stock camaro (inless you have a cam, then its like driving a cammed camaro). Im running the stock motor.

Currently am running a remote mount setup similiar to STS but completely custom. The problem is that the turbos were gifted to me few years ago so I don't know much about them. All I know is from just driving. They take forever to spool, fully spooled at about 4500 rpm on a really good day. I am producing over 560hp at the wheels currently. But it is a daily driver for the most part that I ocassionaly can take up to the track.

Precision said to go with the 5252 or 6262. So your right above those so its good to hear spool is no issue. Are you running oil and h2o through them?

Your spooling problems can have a lot to do with the set up too. Doesn't have to be the turbos.

Oh I understand that, but I recently found out they are about 8 year old eBay turbos and they both have a decent amount of shaft play. So I think that has a big part to do with it. But hey they were free at the time so it worked then.
