Blower cam by LPE

This is a highly recommended cam that was developed by LPE years ago for the wonderful forced induction cars they make.It has a shocking resemblence to the ZR1 cam.

ZR1 CAM SPECS - Stock LS9 is 211/230 .562" .558" on a 120 or 122.5 (cant remember) - Per Gtprix post!

Man good call and way to save people money! Now they know they can get a similar cam designed specifically for an 6.2L with an Eaton Blower by GM for less than half the price!

Those of you looking for this awesome cam deal can order up P/N 12605527 for a cool $92.39 dealer cost or a retail of $162 and use the savings to buy the new cam sprockett and retainer bolts/gaskets ect

Nice - But there is only 1 problem Gtprix!

There is an inherent problem with the factory single bolt design when driven in a spirited fashion(close to the revlimiter alot and sometimes hitting it). Many have addressed this problem by changing to a better quality camshaft,OEM sprocket and Higher quality chain.

Here are a few pics to educate those who dont live in the LS world like MYSELF and GTPRIX(basing this off his sig).

The last picture is what your new cam install will look like .

Man I guess its a good thing that GM didn't use a single bolt cam on the LS9 eh?

Just showing these guys what is in their engine and why they need to change and what they need to go with.Remember from your post just back were you stated - "Uh the same person who was the first to put a blower on one of these things to know WHERE the fuel system limitations were (you know for everyone else?). I see you are just as "helpful" over here as every other board, sorry you guys have to deal with this LOL "

Might want to go back and read my post from way back.....Does not look like you have been here long enough to start cracking off like you do.

Welcome to Camaro5

ADM PERFORMANCE and GTPprix.

This is the first and last warning I will give you. You were already told by abother mod to cool it.
I don't know what your history is, but this petty arguing will not be tolerated. It doesn't add anything productive to the thread.

I think what this really says is that the L99 has no place in a Camaro. If you want gas mileage get the 6 cylinder. Or much better yet GM PLEASE give us the option, L99 automatic (for those who want a V-8 but don’t mind having no torque and getting beat by 300hp Mustang GT's). Or the best option would be a 426hp LS3 automatic with the gas guzzler tax. Give us the choice, please!

What I still don't get is why my 6.0 LS2 in my 2005 GTO got 17+ MPG and this new 6.2 needs all this "crap" on it to get the same mileage. I guess it would be because of a aerodynamics. The GTO has the styling of Ford Probe on steroids but 400HP cures all defects. I never did a thing too it and loved the way it drove, but never liked the way it looked.

FYI:
Torque difference is a whopping 13 lb-ft (insignificant) ergo, the L99 has PLENTY of torque. It also is capable of MUCH more power when modding than the LS3 due to the very enhancements (cam phaser, slightly lower compression *blower anyone?*) you claim are robbing it of power and making it slow. Making broad statements using an insignificant sample size is never a good idea.

From WIKI:

Differences w/ LS3 Engine

* L99 used in automatic version SS models. LS3 is used in manual version SS models.
* L99 produces 400hp/395lb-ft tq compared to LS3's 422hp/408lb-ft tq.
* L99 camshaft is different -- having a little less duration and a little less lift, both of which give the engine a smoother idle.
* L99 has a cam phaser and, to get the additional piston-to-valve clearance required when cam phasing changes, the pistons are different parts having valve reliefs machined into their tops. The reliefs lower the compression ratio to 10.4:1.
* L99 PCV system is different having its oil separators in the valve covers rather than down in the valley like the LS3.

As far as getting beat by 300hp mustangs goes? If one beats an L99, then either the driver had issues driving or the rustang has some pretty serious mods. Maybe it's a bottle baby?

Well Sir, I appreciate your opinion. It is apparent that you have never experienced a case of the L99 slow’s like so many of us have. From my non expert opinion the L99 engine is a pile of crap and should be left to Tahoe’s and Avalanche’s where it does not matter. Until you go through what some members have gone through you cannot understand what we are feeling about our extremely slow L99’s.

Sorry Andy, help me out here... so the triple bolt cam shaft sprocket doesnt necessitate the cam chain guides... that flop out of place at high RPMs. Is that what you're gettin' at?

Wow, how noticeable is the sound after one of those things is thrown off it's bracket?
