Guess CFD is probably sleeping soundly about now!
I've seen this a lot in the weight loss thread. People have good intensions, post them and disappear. It's usually an indication of what their success level will be. None. It would be great if I am proven wrong, we'll see.

I was probably out like a light. lol My surgery was scheduled for 12:30 but got a call from the hospital, I guess there was a cancelation so they got me in at 10.00 and by 10.30 I was most likely out. Everything went good and I've been sleeping like a baby, woke a few minutes ago because the pain meds wore off, I'll be out again in a few I'm sure. Everything will be uphill from here. My surgeon was pretty cool and unlike my general practitioner actually encourages my weight training and exercise, he seems to think that in about 2-3 weeks I should be able to ease my way back into it. That's encouraging because the last time It was a couple of months before I could do much but that hernia was pretty severe in comparison.

I'm resting but already getting fidgety, feeling pretty good actually. Might even head in to the shop on Monday and tinker around a bit if I can get in and out of my car without too much trouble.

This will be TMI, but....

The roughest part for me was going to the bathroom. I take fiber 2x a day and have for a long time. Even stacked it with stool softeners...didn't do any good :(

I've been ok there, still fairly regular. The toughest part for me right now is the getting up and down, that's still painful, obviously because of the use of the lower abdominals but once I'm up or down everything is fairly good, a little soreness but no real pain. It's been a breeze compared to my last one.

Okay guys, It looks like I have strained my lower back somehow. I periodicly get some lower back pain especially in the morning after standing for a while but this is worse. It has been hurting pretty badly all day despite doing some stretches, soaking in a hot bath of epsom salt & taking some Naproxen. None helped at all. I'm not sure how I did it. I think & still remember good form when using weights. So 2 questions; one for future prevention & one for getting better now:
1) What are the most common mistakes that I may have made that could have strained my lower back?
2) What are the best things I can do now to help me get better?

Let me see if I can find it but I have a link somewhere to Dr McGill. He is an expert in the field and gives tips on all aspects of back pain relief and prevention.
