8 Rib Supercharger Pulleys

Is anyone running an 8 rib pulley setup other than Innovators West? This would be for a Whipple kit.

I was specifically looking at these two, but neither appears to be a complete kit.

MTI Racing 8 Rib: MTI-221-003
http://www.mtiracing.com/mti-8-rib-b...ulley-kit.html

ATI: 918635
http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...s/damsuper.htm
The 8-rib version of this damper may have been something custom from Redline Motorsports because I can't find a lot of information about it.

I want something that looks like it came from the factory. MTI's kit seems to be closest to that goal.

Thanks.

Tim

I converted over to the LSA drive system. Keeps your accessories on a 6 rib and the blower on a 8 rib. It's more expensive but works really well.

Why not IW? They make great stuff. Odds are some of the other kits are just rebranded IW anyways. I've run 8 rib IW stuff for a long time and no issues, and their service/support is great.

If they anodized their pulleys, I would definitely go IW. Being on the east coast, any non-anodized aluminum is very, very corroded by the chemicals they put on the roads in winter. I don't mind raw polished aluminum on a summer only car (like my S2000), but for something used all four seasons, there's no way. I would probably go with the ATI 10 rib before the IW 8 rib.

Considered the LSA drive system, but with all of the failures the CTS-V's had with their Whipples, I don't have much confidence in that swap. Besides that, this is going onto a Saab 9-7X and I have a complete, brand new LS3 Camaro drive system sitting in the basement just for use with the Whipple.

Running the MTI kit with my Maggie, it's a complete kit, I only had to get a 8 rib pulley for the supercharge and that's it.

What kind of failures? ADM suggested this for me and said it works flawlessly.

Anodizing is cheap and easy to do. Just get the IW annodized then.

About 90% of the Ctsv owners that installed 2.9 whipples on them broke the whipples. The 10% that didn't probably never pushed the whipple or sold the blower before they failed.

Yea. A few broke the shaft, bearings etc. here's a link to one thread but if you search you will find many on that site.

That's interesting but ADM has used this set up on a few cars and not had any problems so hopefully I won't either.

Looks like I'll be going with the MTI setup. That seems closest to what I want even though it may not be complete.

Whipple supply the IW balancer with the 8 rib kit ... I would be very surprised if they would do that if there was any chance that they thought it was going to fail.
