My 2011 SS...a never ending project - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So since its winter time in Central Indiana and my work has been shut down the last couple of days for the snow fall and extreme temps I have time to sit down and do this.

My Camaro was in a way an impulse buy and in a way very thought out. I had purchased a 2011 Tahoe in January 2011 to replace my 2005 Colorado. I had contemplated for months about ordering a Camaro or buying a used Corvette but instead by girlfriend at the time (now my wife) convinced me a Tahoe was the way to go.

Don't get me wrong the Tahoe was awesome but got old quick. It wasn't fast, it wasn't loud, (see what I did there) and it sure wouldn't burn the tires up. I have always wanted a muscle car, my dad had a 69 Camaro SS with a 396, my mom an 83 Z28, and my uncle has had a number of different Camaro's over the years that I don't exactly remember them all.

So the urge returned once spring rolled around and I found myself looking at Camaro's but knowing I'm not the most patient person I knew I wouldn't order one and needed my brother (local Chevy dealer sales man) to get me one. After having to suffer through the TV show Cake Boss with my GF (they made a Bumble Bee cake) I get up the next morning and called my brother and told him find me a Black SS Camaro with the only stipulation is it was a manual. 15 minutes later he called me with the good news. The GF as you probably imagine was not happy, but hey she still married me and secretly loves riding in the Camaro.

The rest is history. I told myself I wasn't going to mod it much maybe an exhaust and a CAI but that was it. Yeah right once you stop you can't stop, and while I don't have a lot of things done the things I have done have all been centered on performance and not cosmetic, just a personal preference. I must say I’ve never enjoyed owning and driving a car as much as the Camaro.

Nice seeing a fellow Hoosier doing mods. Maybe we will hook up someday at a local event. Mike Norris and Raymond's alignment are the bomb! I will have some work done by them in the future.

Sounds like a plan, I'm so ready for the temps to warm up and the snow to melt so I can get it out of storage. I go to cars and coffee on Saturdays every once in a while, awesome cars always shows up.

Thanks, you got the Camaro nut part for sure. Hopefully we run into each other this spring/summer I always like to compare notes with others.
