Possibly wrapping the car!

I just got back from a local shop that does wraps, they defiantly have their rep around this around have done alot of big known company vehicles, also the city's special Dodge Chargers. I actually live 2 houses down from the owner and he recently wrapped his Scion TS in Chrome.

The price on the chrome wrap is 8 grand, and that's normal chrome not colored.
I am looking to probably just get a Flat (Non-Shiny) Color, or Satin Black which he said looks better then "Flat" Black. Which is also alot cheaper only 1800.

Everyone seems to do Flat/Satin Black, and I think I want to have something different. I am pretty sure I can get ANY color in the Flat texture. He also can do Carbon Fiber weave pattern, and the paint color that a real DeLorean is painted which is like a brushed metal texture.

My question is what is the benefit vs paint? If you remove the wrap at a later date is the paint underneath completely undamaged? How long does it last? How does it have to be maintained so the sun won't destroy it?

Not a fan of any chrome wrapped cars I've seen so far. Personally I love the flat black wraps I've seen. Just turns the Camaro into a sinister looking badass.

I dont believe it ruins the Paint, and it benefits vs paint bcuz you can always change it and still have your original paint underneath and its cheaper then actual paint job, and we live in FL and I know his two cars have been the same skin for well over 2 yrs since he moved in next to me, and my tattoo artist has his truck done for his shop by the same guy and his truck has been done for over 5 yrs.

@MiracleAces - Ya, not to BIG on the Chrome Wrap just seems like a little to much "bling" but it defiantly does turn heads for the 1st time viewers, I like the colored chromes more but not going with them to much money. Just going to get a solid color, could do a personal design but I dont know what I could figure out there. Thinking either Flat Black, Orange, Green, Dark Grey.

Veteran 1 is wrapped and it looks bad ass. Go for it, it is your car, do what you want. Some will like it and others hate it. Who cares? I love my Vertical doors and others don't.

Yeah I think the Blue Chrome looks badass. Its about 8-10k grand tho. ONLY would do it if I actually had the money to throw at it.

In my opinion, save the cash and get it wrapped matte black while leaving some IOM exposed your interior will pop with the accenting . then you won't have to change the interior and spend another 1k+.

It will be sweet

Oh and I don't know if the shop told you this but the chrome wraps are illegal due to them blinding stupid people while driving lol.

And they are impossible to keep up. Your guaranteed to get scratches which will look like hell after a few washes.. That's why you mostly see them on exotics that are garage kept and only take out for shows.
