I brought mine in this morning for the crickets chirping while the air is on low (speed, not temp).. They called back and stated they're ordering a new blower motor for it. It's going to take 3-5 days to come in, so I'm picking it back up until then.. But, here's another 2010 Camaro with a blower issue.

Where do they have to cut to get the fan out?

I'm dropping mine off today for that along with a rattle in the muffler. I've taken the glove compartment down and sprayed the back with wd-40. I shouldn't have to do that so we'll see what goes down

***Update- motor is being replaced.Hope it's with one that works this time.

wonderful.

The last thing you need anywhere near your Camaro is a frustrated mechanic who has to resort to cutting things out. Nice design, GM.

I hope I am exempt from this experience.

From what I understand, as my blower motor has been replaced 2 times (and i still have the noise)... there is a molded insulation around the motor that has to be cut. Its kinda like weather seal, I suppose to buffer the noise or help keep it in place. Not sure. But once its cut, it is not re-applied. Which is perhaps why I still hear noise from it......

Add me to the list. I just noticed the noise about two weeks ago but I just figured out the another day where it was coming from. Its driving me insane. So I had to check the forum to see if anyone else had the same noise and it looks like everyone is having the same problem.

Since I work at the GM Technical Center, I have been in close contact with the Camaro Brand Quality Manager. I have talked with him numerous times about this issue, as it drives me nuts every time I drive the car. He told me that they are working to solve the issue, and have had the supplier improve the blower motor 3 times now. The most recent revision should be put in production within the next few weeks.

My car is currently at Becky's dealership in Woodhaven, MI. GM is sending out an engineer to work on it Monday in regards to another issue I'm having, however hopefully I'll get a solution for the HVAC noise as well. Stay tuned....

Yep, I have the same problem. Taking it into the dealership in Issaquah today. We'll see what they say.

Update: Of course today the fan wasn't making any noise, but I stopped by the dealership anyway. They said they couldn't hear it, but ordered a new fan anyway. Should have it in sometime next week. Nice folks!

I stopped by the dealership today to inform them of my blower fan noise and make an appointment for tomorrow. I asked the writer if he was familiar with this issue because if GM is working on a better fan design I would rather wait than get it replaced now and have the problem resurface.

The first words out of his mouth were "Don't believe everything you read on the internet". This isn't the first time I have gotten this type of response when explaining to one of these guys that I am half way informed about the problem with my car. I just want them to understand that I know where the flux capacitor is and and a shot of WD40 just isn't going to suffice.

I'm sure this is going to go really well.
