A bit of an apology to Greg and Rick @ EVS
Although I still think they are guilty of creating more of a problem than there really was during the January IDL broadcast, they were right when they called the preordering system a "marketing survey" (I think that's how they worded it).

I'm not sure they should think like that though. I think the demand from the average buyer (read non enthusiast) will be much different. The pre-orders will help market the car though ..

I believe they deserve a big thanks for the info. Somewhat of an apology from the people that overboardly flamed them. I do believe that GM mislead us about what would be the advantage if we preordered. I do not believe Greg and Rick meant to stir things up, but help keep us informed and make our own opinions.

They were right about the "marketing survey" part. But they were 180 degrees out on the delays for V8/SS preorders. In fact it was the V6's that were delayed. So for their part in that fiasco they were wrong.

I have to disagree! If indeed this was only a marketing survey, our cars would not be being built! I would say it was more than a marketing survey and that IDL thread that night went the way it did for one reason! I know there is alot of aggrivation and even anger but I don't think we were "played". I think some mistakes were made but the enthusiast did not pre-order only for a survey for GM, but rather a sold car to the customers specifications. They are building our cars, aren't they? It could have been planned better but the intent was to sell some Camaros, they did that. Just my 2.

Based upon what I read on that webpage...ole Johnnie boy is basically giving all of us pre-orders a polite..F-U! I hope they learn from this excercise as it pertains to the Volt. I was seriously going to put in a order for one but now after this farse I'm finding myself looking at other companies products.
