If it doesn't make the car faster, I don't do it. Will post driving impressions later, going out right now

yeah you have a beast and would be curious if it works for you. for me it made a difference in fla. I think this is a hot state thing but if it works in washington then it is a ram air effect. Let me know

My first thoughts on doing this is that you are going to be directing all of those bugs that usuall hit your foglights directly at your air filter. You know how many bugs you kill on a summers night of driving. I'm amazed at how many bugs get killed by the front of my car. You might want to think about using a hose clamp to clamp on a piece of screen, or some kind of filter to stop the bugs from getting through.
Or possibly the screen will just dice up the bugs into smaller bits?
Good idea though.
I've thought of doing the same type of thing but using the duct for brake cooling.
But I do like the lights though.

The screen dices and the tube difuses and you still have an air filter

the box can be cleaned

I did the engine bay with a fiberglass air conditioning filter and clamped it on the end to send cool air to the intake tube

I think this is a hot weather mod if ovenmitt noticed something then it is due to ram air effect just waiting on his feedback. I wouldnt' say I was faster just more responsive like during cooler temps.

What I am looking to do then, is route the driver side venting up to the air box similar to how its done in this post. The other side, Im thinking i'll.either direct toward the engine itself or just maybe leave as is... Hopefully it'll not only add to the look of the car, but functionality as well... will post a thread once I finish it!
I did this to my car when it was new as part of my homemade cold air kit. I then went on to a LMR cai, then later to a CAI Inc. I added a ADM scoop last year as well. Still have the tubing running from the front lower grill into the airbox as well as the scoop.

A while back I started a project like this, I ended up doing something a little different but get fresh air in a similar manner, bugs and debri in the air filter/ engine bay is not that big of a deal,, water making it up to the filter is also no problem and I've got almost 20,000 mi on the set up. Here is a link.

There's a sufficient air gap too, so I don't think rain will soak the filter, but I will certainly update this if I need to. Just looking for a few free HP on the big end of the street and racetrack
Cool thanks. Looks good to man!!
