Cut low-intensity brake lights to make Afterburners stand out!

So apparently people have been doing this all the time, but I had no idea of this until just two months ago....

So here are my results!

Note that the top bright line on the brake lens is just the reflector on the lens. No way to take the picture without that lighting up.

What do you guys think?

You cut one of the outer prongs off of the light bulb takes 5 minutes. AAC includes instructions on how to do it with their afterburners.

Ok no problem

1) first you take off the black plastic thing to get to the tail light bulb assembly. 3 push pins per side.

2) And then you twist the bulb out of the lens. Twist and then pull will allow it to come out.

3) Once you have the bulb assembly out of the lens, you grab the bottom of the bulb and pull it out. It is only held in by two metal clamp things, and it is very easy to just pull out.

4) Once you pull it out, look at the black plastic that is connected to the bulb. On the black plastic you will notice 4 metal wires.

5) Two of the wires are facing the outside, while two wires are facing the inside. With your finger pry up the two that are facing INSIDE and cut them.

6) Reinsert bulb to make sure that low intensity no longer lights up, but high intensity (pressing on the brake pedal) does!

7) Redo for three other bulbs and you're done!

Took me about 25-30 minutes, and it was pretty easy

Note: After cutting the two metal wires, don't push them back down against the plastic. I did that and that allowed for contact, which then allowed for the low intensity to light up. Just let them stick up and you should be fine

No I didn't but AAC did, check the last page of the install guide http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...9&postcount=11

It is literally 2 gray metal wires per bulb

Yes exactly. The purpose of this mod is to make the afterburners INTO the parking lights like the concept car
