I dont think it is as much money as most people think compared to other brake upgrade kits. I would like to see me and a zl1 do a brake challenge when I am done with my brake upgrades....I will not have spent as much as it would take to swap to ctsv/zl1 brakes. forget about comparing price to a brembo or baer big brake kit haha

Correct me if I'm wrong here but these rotors cost almost as much as the ZL1 brake upgrade? Wouldn't that be a better option for the money?

Nope. RB rotors are about 6 pounds lighter than the ZL1 rotors.

depending on how much better the zl1 kit can stop better than this kit... it should with more pistons up front. it might be a trade off with weight in a very crucial spot vrs stopping power. lighter also aids in stopping just dont know if its enough to overcome the piston advantage. but lighter in that rotational mass and unsprung area helps in every aspect of performance...turning acceleration braking

I priced out CTS-V front calipers, rotors and pads all OEM for $1, 200. No need for rear upgrades and all I need to do is paint them to match. This is all new parts from Amazon and pads from eBay. RB rotors more on my SS and plan to go with the CTS-V kit for my 1LE.FYI the CtS rotors weigh less than the ZL1 rotors. I think the CTS-V rotors are 2lbs lighter than ZL1s.

RB rotor are still a little lighter but not by much compared to CTSV rotors and the larger rotor and pads i would think would help with fade resistance with more surface area where the RB rotor use veins to dissipate heat. Not sure which Sep is better but both are track proven.

Besides the reduction of unsprung rotating weight, the RB rotors also run about 150° cooler than traditional rotors which is a big advantage under repeated hard braking such as on a road course. Save money elsewhere; you won't regret the RB upgrade as SPCBA described in his review of their performance on the track. They're worth it.

So the RB rotors with stock SS calipers are good or even better than the ZL1/CTSV front set up? Interesting. What pads are recommended with RB?
