yeah true, I know that the str8 models are nice my uncle has a charger srt8 and took a while to get to that 160 before getting disengaged. But for didge to put 180 on the speedodmeter is nuts. i give this chanllenger 172 at max if that. matter of fact kick that down to 165 in my opinion. and thats with no mods or anything just right of the lot. Okay...Let's go with your 172....Do you want them to put a 0-172 gauge on there? 180...200. Whatever, says I. They had to round up to some number to keep it looking and reading 'normal'.

And as a side...I've never seen any car (un-modded) that hit it's speedo limit. Now I haven't seen every car there is to see, but you get my drift.

Yeah i smacked myself in the head after saying (the whole 180 thing lol) that but still my point is this car cant be any faster than what the shelby gt500 is, or camaro is. but well see i'll let dodge talk the talk and I'll see if they walk the walk

IMHO, this is one of the biggest disappointments I've seen in a long time out of Dodge, second only to the Charger being a four door instead of a coupe.I still like it, but now its just for the body, motor, and nameplate. the interior now is... just another Charger, and 180.... right, proof please We are doing so much better, our beloved Camaro has the full package, looks, power, and going by the shots of teh interior, comfort, all in a MUSCULAR package. GUESS WAHT DODGE, prepare to get ur @$$ kicked!! ROCK ON CHEVY!!!

Thumbs down

in the words of Mr Horse from 'the ren and stimpy show'

"No sir, i don't like it."

i give chrysler credit for making the exterior identical to the concept but they really 'dropped the ball' on the interior . if only they changed the steering wheel and the shift knob or the console (there is a possibility the manual tranny one will look better ).

Man, Dodge really screwed the pooch. I thought, given the interior of the 2009 Ram, that the Challenger would actually be pretty nice. WRONG!

They couldn't do aluminum trim for the center stack or the doors? And the seats...I loved the seats from the concept. I had so hoped they'd remain. I don't mind the universal parts from the other cars, but every car needs something unique to really define it, and the Challenger just doesn't have it. Not to mention the auto doesn't have the pistol grip shifter. F**k that.

I was really surprised when I sat in a Charger how much I hated the interior. I can't believe thay put the same thing in the Challenger. I'm so glad I'm a Chevy guy.

Now that I've had a chance to re-examine the production interior, I've noticed a thing or two.

1) The trim around the radio/hvac and on the door is carbon fiber, so it's not a stretch to assume aluminum would be an option from the factory or aftermarket.

2) The seats are pretty similar. The shape is the same, but the ribbed leather is just replaced with some sort of cloth material.

I'm still dissappointed. The concept's interior was a huge plus for me, partly because it was so do-able for production.

I like it... but, then again, I also like the Charger's interior, but wish it had another name besides "Charger"... the interior is simple, functional and easy to use... all key parts of what makes a good interior a good interior... there are some carbon fiber accents that break up the monotony of the plastic mass of a dashboard... and I'm quite sure that brushed aluminum will be offered in the aftermarket to replace most of the plastic bezels in this car... all in all, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me... might have to pick up a 2010 model in the used car market somewhere around 2012

oh, and if you're wondering why they chose this interior instead of designing a new interior from the ground up, take a look at how soon the car is available compared to when the Camaro will be available.
