Because the Z/28 will not be for everybody. It is a hard core track car with very few amenities. The ZL1 has everything the Z/28 does not....

They said Recaros will be available in the SS models, so if I get a 1LE that is one option for me. Can't wait for pricing because I'm hoping a loaded 1LE might be close enough to convince myself to take the plunge.

The weight difference between a camaro and mustang was 200 lbs. The z/28 just made it 100 lbs and now shoved in a 500 hp LS7 in there with dry sump oiling system. The makes the boss 444 hp lag far behind not to mention the GT 5.0. Mustang owners should be worried.

Oh corse the Mustang is laggin behind! It has 125 less Cubic Inches lol. Its Fords turn now in 2015 to come out with somethnig better. Then it will be GM's turn again. The Z/28 will be a bad ass car! I dont see it flying off the dealerships though. To impractical for most drivers, and with the price tag im sure it will have, it wont be worth it for most. I see it selling well the first few months when all the z/28 loyalist, and hard core enthusiast line up to get their hands on it. I think the ZL1 will out sell it its just a better bargin for most. People have grown so accustomed to all the little features that should have never been put in cars like these. I give GM props for making a car like this the way it should be, with out all the creature comforts!

Im wondering where all the people that hated it yesterday are? I will admit it looks a lot better in this color but its still ugly. The front is fine, but that rear should never have the z/28 badge on it! Stil is going to be a good performing car. i cant wait to see some track and strip times from it.

I like the z28 BUT will get the zl1 for the front fascia, RS HALOS, mylink, RADIO, SPEAKERS, and all I need on the zl1 is the Recaro seats

Congrats GM for delivering a dedicated track car. I like the news about the recaros becoming available in the SS and the ZL1, I might order a set.

Not that I am aware of but I would guess all the standard colors apply. I'm not expecting a Z28 only color option but I could see a new striping option given the new hood design.
