Yenko Tribute - "Cut, Chop, Rebuild"

There was also a show on the Speed Channel I saw a few days ago called "Cut, Chop, Rebuild."

http://www.ccr.tv/

They restored a 69 Camaro Yenko style, dumped an LS7 in it and then GM lent them a Yenko style 2010 (all stock). Just the decals and ground effects made the car look Yenko. They raced the two against each other at the track. They said it was a fair race, but how could it be? The 69 destroyed the 2010. Oh well.

Sorry if this is a repost. Unfortunately I couldn't DVR it but the segments were kind of short. They were working on a 40's Mercury which took time away from the Camaros.

I didn't see it, but a 69' with an LS7 would have a significant power to weight advantage over a stock 2010 SS.

The only thing that was fair is that both were Camaros and they both had V8's. I wouldn't have believed it if the 2010 won. I'd like to see this episode.

According to this, there's not that much of a difference in weight unless the LS7 is significantly lighter than the '69 427. I don't know those specs...
