For sure, a 4.2L Twin Turbo V8 sounds silly, bet it will suck.

Eh, it just reminds me too much of the Infiniti Q60 S. Its rated at 400 HP but it feels like a sedan off the line but wakes up once it finally builds boost but has a good bit of turbo lag where it feels fairly weak on the low end then just rockets off after building boost.. So its like it may have 500 HP but its no fun if most of that power is buried at 6k RPMS... It was still fun to drive, but its not my preference of cars. It also reminds me too much of the trend modern sports cars are taking to make power... tiny displacement motors forced with turbo's and plumbing.. I prefer big cubes.

The twin turbos could be staggered. One smaller for lower rpm range and one bigger for the higher rpm boost?

I personally think it's great and I wish it were available already. That can really change the game.

Hmmm..AWD twin turbo v8, GM did just stepped up their game on this new Ct6-V. Next question is, 5 digit car or 6?
This is probably competing and price range with telsa 100D (not P100D) / upcoming BMW m5

This is a smaller v8, but it's not a small motor and it has ample torque everywhere. Peak torque is almost 300 higher than the Q50 Red Sport for example..

Did you read about the Engine? 90% of torque (560+ftlb) available at 2k rpms. Where did you get the idea it’s “buried at 6k”.....or will have lag like an infinity?

Caddy needs to work on selling cars first before really putting crazy engines into them.

Cadillac states that it makes 627 lb-ft peak torque between 3200-4000 rpm.

It has been rumored for a while that GM was working on two DHOC engines, a 4.2L and a 5.5L, with both N/A and TT versions.

I noticed that this new engine is being built at the Bowling Green plant. That's where Corvettes are made. It has also been rumored that the new mid-engined corvette will get a 5.5L DHOC engine that will eventually have a twin turbo setup (there may be an N/A version of the 5.5 for the base mid-engine vette).

This could mean that there will be a Z/28, and it could have an N/A version of the 5.5L engine. Or a TT version, who knows?

But, this new development is confirming the rumors of the new engine lineup, so stay tuned for a 5.5L version of this new lineup.
