Smile Saw the Camaro convertible in Detroit

Tom and I were just in Detroit yesterday for a dealer mtg, and we saw the 5th gen convertible! Beautiful machine, red with gray interior. Got up as close as we could to see it, but the car was mobbed by dealers. No, we were not allowed any photos w/cameras or cell phones, and security was very tight.
We are hearing that it will be out in '11 and will be a '12 model.
I would like to say that Chevy has some awesome new products coming in the next 2 years-the redesigned Aveo blew us all away (really!) and comes in 5 dr hatchback and sdn models. The new Cruze (built @ Lordstown) is bigger and a little fancier than the Cobalt, and the new Spark (sub-compact, 42 mpg, appealing to youth market) is a great little car. Re-formatted Equinox (best hwy mpg in class) is luxurious and slightly tweaked Malibu will give the foreign sedans a run for the $. New Orlando is a crossover van/suv w/3 rows of seats, two of which fold down, 32 mpg. The Volt is truly futuristic, and should please the eco market-it was very well done inside- can be plugged into your garage wall, and will take you 40 mi. per chg. Buy a Chevy!

WOO HOO!!!

Were they letting anyone sit in it? Curious to know how the height of the windshield was.

Did they have the top finished?...and what was that color, if it was finished?

But...good news. Sounds like it'll probably be available for ordering around October of 2010 then?

Did not see anyone in the car, it was so crowded. Top was definitely finished, folded down and covered by boot, so did not see color. Car looked completely finished, perfectly done. Color looked like the red jewel tint coat.
Also saw Corvette Grand Sport in Jetstream Blue.

Is this an accurate representation of the new Aveo? If so, it will be a hot little car.

Headlights are different- those look like the headlights on the Spark. Rest of body looks correct, though. Saw it in orange metallic-super little car!

Was this a hard boot similar to what the Corvette Convertible has, or a vinyl boot ?

AGLAT
I don't think there will be a hardtop vert. Sadly.

I don't think the question was whether it was hardtop convertible, but rather if the boot that covers the soft top is similar in material to the boot on the corvette.
