Circle D - The Formal Introduction

Though I would formally introduce myself to the Camaro5 forum. We are a torque converter manufacture and make custom built converters. We have quite a few already in some 2010's. We have numerous options and I will get more info on those later. We also have a Transmission division and are working on upgrades for the 6L80 trans. We just purchased our "Shop Car", a 2010 Camaro SS A6. So we have a nice little project car to experiment with. If you guys have any questions about performance converters, transmissions, or tuning I will be glad to answer them.

You can shoot me a PM or call me at the shop.

Will this be able to operate the same as the stock converter? I'm not familiar with the details but I've read that a lot of converters are not able to lock when the stock converter locks without eventually causing damage.

Yes, this converter will have lock up. It is actually a multi disk so it is extremely durable. The 6L80 does have a unique lock up schedule and so far there is not a way to properly tune them. Most guys are just raising the MPH so it will lock up at like 65+.

Here is a link to the Fastlane thread for the LSX 2010 Winner. It has our 258mm billet converter in it. We are very excited and honored to be working with some of the top guys in the LS world!

Chris -

A few questions for you:

What kind of power handling are you shooting for with your modified 6L80?

Will you be using the factory computer with software modifications or a separate transmission controller ?

Are you looking at making a transbrake for the 6L80 ?

I assume you can build the converter to pretty much any spec, correct ?

Please shoot me a PM unless you wish to answer them here.

Thanks.

We are custom making clutch packs and utilizing the OE computer with our tune. We are still tweaking both so nothing available yet. Trans-brake has not been talked about, but maybe one day. Converter wise we can build anything you need. 230mm, 245mm, 258mm. Single disk and multi disk. No problem there.

We will keep you updated when we have more info. We will also be offering tunes using HP tuners.
