cutouts vs catback ?

I've read a lot of posts about the pros and cons of catbacks and electronic cutouts. I realize that they work differently, but in reality have essentially the same purpose.. to improve the wimpy factory sound. Is there an advantage of one over the other ? I am trying to decide which way to go with my vert, suggestions would be appreciated.

Go with both. A catback will sound good, and not be too loud for driving in neighborhoods etc, and you can open the cutouts whenever you want to, to get even more sound out of it.

Get the Stainless Works Retro Chambered cat back. No need for cut outs with that system, I was in the same boat you are until I started researching that system. If you want even more sound and get some real power get the SW LT's and high flow cats.

My neighbors hate me. Hahahahaha

Cut outs and cat back exhaust do not serve the same purpose. Cut outs are not for sound, they are for racing. People like to have them so they can open them when they are pulling into a car show or cruise night but you are not going to enjoy driving around with them open all the time. And when they are not open you are back to being a wimp. If you want a nice sound that you can enjoy all the time then you should look at a cat back. The Stainless Works Retro Chambered cat back mentioned above is a great option if you are looking for a nice deep muscle car sound that is going to catch people's attention.

Headers and cuts sound wicked. It's nice to be able to switch it off and run the factory system with the flip of a switch and be quite as a mouse

Let just say cutouts are where it's at. On my setup, it was worth about 10hp and tq just by opening the cutouts. Granted I do have the stock exhaust, so I'm sure it was a little restrictive
