Remote start heated seats. Does it work?

Its been starting to get cold here in the mornings, so I went through the menu on the car and set the seats to heat with remote start. Well yesterday I started the car the last few minutes before I left for work. When I got in the car the seats were still cold. I figured maybe the leather was just cold still. So I turned them on when I put the key to the start position.

Well same thing happened today, except I gave the car a lot more time to warm up. When I put the key in the on position it doesnt indicate the seat heaters are on. Then when I turn them on manually they heat up in about 2 min. I even sat there for a few minutes before turning it on to see if they were heating...but I got nothing.

Anybody try this option out yet and have success?

Do you have to turn the heated seats on before you exit the car last, kinda like setting the a/c or heater prior to getting out?

Haven't tried it yet...

The seats don't heat up with remote start, unfortunately. I've tried it over the last two weeks.

I read that the seats and mirrors heat automatically "when the temperature drops below a certain temperature". The problem is the temperature was not listed. I doubt that its cold enough in most areas yet.

Forget about auto, I've turned mine on manually and can't tell if they're working. The lights come on but my buttometer ain't detecting a rise in temp.

You should probably have the dealer check them out if you can't feel the heat -- it takes a few minutes but they get quite toasty, like a heating pad! I turned mine off quickly then since it was 75 degrees out.

I haven't tried to see if they come on with the remote start yet because it hasn't been very cold out yet. I hope this feature works though, I'm looking forward to it in the winter!

There is an option in the vehicle settings that says "remote start heated seats" I set that to on. But I get nothing. I dont care what GM thinks...at 49 degrees leather is cold.

Well those heated seats kick in pretty quick, I think they are worried that if you start them remotely it could cause problems (with nothing for the seats to heat besides themselves.)

There is an option in the cars setting through the stero to turn them on with remote start. I really dont think there is any way to cause a problem with no rump to roast.

Can anyone else confirm if their cars seats will heat with remote start?

I looked it up in the owners manual and it says the same thing. It doesnt mention anything about temps for the remote start w/heated seats.
